October 31st.
Mom had already left to meet Carmen Hanson at an estate auction in MacDowall by the time we woke up.
We slowly got ourselves ready and headed over around noon.

Mikes only been to flower auctions, calm and refined with hushed tones 😉
So the Sask. style of high-speed prices and bidders calling out, was a new experience for him.
This was an estate auction of a lady who collected many things, among those things were dolls.

Hundreds of creepy dolls laying on tables.
It brought some entertainment for sure.
Comparing photos with mom over who found the uglier/scarier doll, watching to see which people around us bought the most junk etc.
Small town amusement 😜
I did get a piece of lemon meringue pie which was quiet tasty 😊
Dad, Nathin, Becca and Spencer joined us there for a while before Mike and I decided we had enough fun for one day and headed back to the house.
Once Mom and Dad got back home from auctioning, Dad started preparations for a fish fry.
He had picked up some fresh walleye from town, he figured Mike had to get some kind of special treatment so he didn’t feel toooo left out 😋

My room is full of wedding decorations 😬
I started the slow process of tidying things up so packing would be a tad easier to accomplish.
Had some things to prepare for tomorrow, as it would be the last day of seeing people from home.
Got that all sorted out and it was pretty much bedtime!

Hello humans 😊
This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;)
I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw.
(Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.)
June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of.
Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister.
Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by.
I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada.
Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home.
But Home is not where I'll be for some time.
My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe.
Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months.
The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊

Congratulations on your recent marriage! As another North American country girl who moved to Europe, I’m so glad you’re blogging about your experience. I wish I had so I could go back and read about my first impressions. It all feels “normal” now even though 6 years ago it was sooo weird and magical haha. Enjoy the time with your family and friends, but remember that you’ll see them again soon. ^^ God bless!
