Do You Like Your Cat With Butter ?

Wednesday 10th –

Our stinking feline decided he loves butter and counters …
It’s so, SO frustratingly disgusting.

We have tried multiple forms of discipline and none have shown any forms of inspiring learning.

So glad we only have a cat to deal with 😝

But we have decided to try the new method of masking tape.
Tape his paws together and place him near his food bowl and littler box whenever he is inside πŸ˜‘

That would be animal cruelty don’t be stupid.

We just WISH we could do that sometimes… Instead we put the tape sticky side up on the counters.
We did a test run on the floor and I think it should do the trick 😁
Hopefully soon since the counter tops look real stupid covered in tape and we can’t put our plates down πŸ˜’

I tried to make chicken divine for supper but turns out canned mushroom soup here is NOT the same as the canned mushroom soup in Sask.
I lost any appetite after simply SMELLING the soup.
So I had to improvise a little bit and it was a tad to dry but all in all Mike did like it.

Thursday 11th –

The day we became the fitness, workout couple.
That couple that everyone sees and thinks ‘wow they really have it together, working out with each other all the time and being so healthy and vegetable-y…’

😎 like that will ever happen.

We did go for a 2km jog though and we did feel like our insides were going to become outsides😜
Five push ups each and we are the power couple of the month 😏

Packed for the weekend ahead in Doesburg and made it in time to join John and Inge for supper.
Well, I made it for supper but Mike headed to town for his haircut.
Supper was a super tasty roast with potatoes and a classic Dutch type of sweet yet sour red beets.

Mike came and Mike ate and Mike left.
Soccer whisked him away since he hadn’t been able to go play for sometime.

Inge and I watched ‘seven pounds’ together and then Mike caught the ending after his 1-1 soccer match, so thrilling that sport 😏

Friday 12th –

Mike went to school.
I got up later that morning and Inge and I had a coffee before going to Doetinchem.

We walked around there and shopped a little bit before stopping at a bakery. Cappuccino for Inge, hot chocolate and a cheese croissant for me 😊

Inge had to work that afternoon so off she went and I stayed and chilled at the house for a couple of hours before Mike got back from school.
Mike disliked school…

(And I can see why )

We headed to Sarah’s to fill his disappointed day with a happy ending of good food (and company of course).
Sarah, Mike and the girls and I sat down for a meal of Sarah’s famous schnitzel.
It lived up to its tales of tastiness 😏
Chicken schnitzel, roasted potatoes topped with cheese and salad and later finishing off the meal was a homemade cremΓ© brΓ»lΓ©e.

Erwin came back from work a bit later and we adults visited between snacking, coloring books and listening to Lisanne practice reading for a school competition.

Saturday 13th –

Makro awaited us but thankfully it was just a small trip there to drop off our pop bottles and do a quick walk through.

I found minnie sized sugar cubes for our coffee.. Expecting them to be super cute but they are hardly smaller than normal sized sugar cubes πŸ™„

We also had a small bite to eat there and then left and picked up a gift certificate for Oma and Opas birthday gifts, the pancake house awaits them.

We went to give them the good news 😜
Us celebrating Oma’s birthday began with enjoying some soup at her house and then ended with cakes and desserts and visiting with relatives until later that afternoon.

Mike drove me back to the cottage and then he went to watch a soccer game with his friend.

I had a FaceTime date with mom and then watched a movie while unpacking and cleaning up. Also unpacked was a box of brownie mix πŸ˜›

Mike brought back 1 kapsalon (fries and meat from a turkish place) and we ate that at midnight and finished it off with the brownies.

So much for our jog… three days ago 😎

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
