The Jemstory Logo πŸ’ŽπŸŒΊπŸšπŸŒ

I know the minnie picture of the logo has been up for a while due to my hasty editing, lack of patience and learning as a writer/editor about how things work on here but now i’d like to explain it.

I had the idea for an art representation of “Jemstory” a few weeks ago.
It just kinda popped into my head and my imagination took over from there 😊

I’ve always used the literal gem / diamond shape as that seemed to obvious to ignoreπŸ˜‹
But as this is my ( our ) story, I wanted it to be represented by more.

It’s all pretty self-explanatory but I’ll clue you in anyways … The globe? Yeah, that stands for the world, travel, wanderlust, exploration and adventure.
Not to mention me moving from Canada to Europe.

There are sea shells in the bottom right area, simply because I love shells.
( Clearing that fact up for you simpletons who haven’t figured that out yet 😏 )
I search for them pretty much everywhere we go and they seemed to blend in kind of perfectly 😊

Colors, because I love bright things.
So often I go to edit a picture or create a piece of art in black and white and I love the outcome, yet something always pulls me into adding color.

Floral bits and flourishes because what girl doesn’t deep down like flowers? πŸ˜‹
Especially tropical ones that grow wild by the ocean shores… 😏 🌺

The pineapple in the top left area has special meaning besides my enjoyment of that fruit.
It’s there to proudly stand for my best friend who heart wrenchinglyΒ left an empty place in my life, due to a tragic accident in 2014.
Pineapple was a name we called her now and again.
She will forever be a part of my story🍍

The actual blending of all the ideas came together surprisingly well.

I’m used to having an idea in my head that never comes out onto paper as planned or hoped for, but this project turned out to be a pleasant surprise πŸ™‚

It’s a mix of watercolours, acrylics and marker.

I copied my first official drafts outline so I could draw the whole thing out accurately again.

Also because I wanted to try another color scheme. 🎨

It may look small and not overly detailed or technical but I’m a slow painter so both of these took me more than a few hours from preparation to clean up πŸ˜‹

It’s something I enjoy though, even if it does give me a sore neck and back 😏

I put on a movie or good old “Adventures in Odyssey ” ( a series of bible stories and characters I grew up with, look em up if you don’t know them and don’t judge to harshly… It’s something you GROW to love πŸ˜‰.)
Set up all my painting necessities, heat up the wheat-bag my mom made me and sit down to create.
I usually have my coffee on hand and catch myself numerous times right before I go to dip my loaded paintbrush in it instead of the water… or go to drink my paint water rather than my coffee… Both HAVE happened πŸ™„

And those are the (possibly really boring) details of the logo… Have a fantastic day! 😊

  1. Well you know what I would say…cause well, you know me 😘
Looks great, love the logo idea, love the unfolding story…love you. Does my opinion count? Of course it does! Proud ‘mom’ moment. (No ‘turd’ note to defend.)

    1. Just that unlike the earlier post I didn’t need to defend myself that you had learnt to leave notes to your spouse calling him a ‘turd’ from me. I can however be proud that you enjoy the arts as much as I do πŸ˜€
