Sunday 6th –
Mike thought he had heard mice a couple of nights back so he went to check the traps in the attic.
The traps weren’t sprung but the cheese was gone so he reloaded them, along with scotch tape to make sure the mice couldn’t take the cheese and run.
Sunday morning he rechecked the traps.
Looks like we have smart mice …
Wild daffodils are popping up everywhere.
Mike took a turn translating the service for me and afterwords we gave out some wedding thank you’s π
John and Inge were coming over for a visit so we headed back to the cottage so I could get the burger frying for taco salad.
Brought out the fruit pizza for critiquing and John told me he liked the meal and dessert… and that he wouldn’t say so if he didn’t really mean itπ
After they had left, I began working on a new look for the blog.
I’m not technically talented, so by the time I finally got my logo cutout and everything arranged, I’d spent the whole evening on it.
Though it took me longer then I’d like, many frustrating clicks and pages later I was pretty pleased with the new layout π
During that time Mike found a video of someone yodeling and decided it’s a very impressive talent π
Monday 7th –
Some ‘mission: impossible’ to start the day off and then a FaceTime chat with mom π
The sun was shining so I considered sitting outside for a bit but the breeze was making it a little to chilly still…π
I need to get working on the whole non-existent tan issue (that I’ve dealt with my whole life π)
I made two, small, atlas books for the giveaway being planned.
The falling apart atlas from the second-hand store proved to come in useful yet again… I knew it would eventually π
Page picking, folding, trimming and sewing used up the rest of my day.
Work is still being done on aunties house, so the buzz of saws and tools was ringing in the cottage all day π
Steak, caesar salad, mushrooms sautΓ©ed in a wine/mustard sauce and toasted buns made up Mikes supper.
I’ve never been a real big steak fan so I had a bite of salad and then later heated up a bowl of instant soup.
At times I have a very refined palate and at other times… I crave the rudimentary things that come out of packages only π
( Like Old Dutch, Salt and Vinegar Chips from Canada … My mouth starts watering just thinking about them π’ )
A few more wedding thank you’s and casual mail was prepared for send off and I’m feeling pretty good about having that task put behind me for good πβπ»
Not that I don’t like showing my thankfulness for all the very thoughtful and generous gifts… But it’s seriously a lot of handwriting writing π
Mike worked on finding a better priced hotel for my family and us come April, since prices jump due to vacation times.
I have no patience when it comes to online searching.
It aggravates me, there are so many pages and choices and information that needs to be filled in and then reviews that say great and reviews that say terrible… Then in the end I’m no closer to having a place to stay from when I started.
Mike on the other hand, though searching when under pressure isn’t his fave, goes at it and manages to find deals on top of it π
( Turns out The Hilton was having a sale π )
The time he spends looking for flights and hotels, planning out road trips and sights to hit along the way, would make me go insane but he seems to relish it.
I’ve told him many times I think his true calling was a travel agent.
Maybe in Canada? ππ
I ate a whole bag of those said chips tonight and my tongue is raw π So much for my 6.4km walk π
