Gift Game On Point ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽ

Monday 14th –

Back to normal cottage life after our Italian weekend.

Mike went off to work and I spent the day unpacking, doing laundry and straightening up the house.

Spent a lot of time writing and trying to sort through some pictures from the trip as well as taking some new pictures for upcoming posts etc. ๐Ÿ™‚

Took out the shell bag and sorted through the goodies found this trip.

Ritz crackers acquired from Italy were a good food staple throughout the day ๐Ÿ˜‹
Stuffed peppers were on the supper menu so I got the burger frying and the rice and peppers boiling.

Found a freaky little pepper curly cue INSIDE the pepper so the was a little creepy.

The vacuum Mike ordered for us arrived and I got to work assembling it and testing it outโ€ฆ fun fun ๐Ÿ˜œ

Found this lovely photo that Mike took of us on the flight back from Venice ๐Ÿ˜

Thanks sweetie… Such a flattering shot.

I asked Mike to stop by the store and grab a couple of thingsโ€ฆ this is what he came back withThough most of the items he bought that weren’t on the list, he did have sweet reasons for most of the extras.

Sugar bread cause he wanted me to have a good morning, fizzy iced tea because its my fave.

Stuffed peppers and garlic bread were eaten and then Mike was exhausted so he went to bed, at 8:00 p.m. and stayed there till around 11:00 p.m… and then almost directly went back to bed ๐Ÿ˜

I stayed up working on writing, editing and ate some more Ritz crackers.
With peanut butter icing this time ๐Ÿ˜‰

Tuesday 15th –

I woke up moments before I heard a knocking on the front door.

Mikes birthday gift arrived!

Iโ€™ve been trying to decide what to get him for his birthday and itโ€™s tricky because technically itโ€™s a gift bought with his own money so I want to make sure he likes the gift.

I had considered both a new bracelet and a backpack (because he doesnโ€™t like carrying around my girly one on our travels ๐Ÿ˜).

The bracelet was found by chance at a small store in Lido.
He was disappointed I didnโ€™t take his card to pay for it or tell the cashier it was a gift so it would be wrapped, but I think he will get over it ๐Ÿ˜

The backpack happened by chance too.
I seen a backpack someone had at the airport and looked up the brand.
Mike then looked if a bol.com carried them and they did so I took it from there.
Itโ€™s a pretty handy site that I can manoeuvre around without needing english and the whole delivery next day thing comes in pretty nice ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป
Ended up not going with the same brand but still found a nice one for a good priceโ˜บ๏ธ

And I had full guarantee that he approved of the gift choices ๐Ÿ˜

We may have to go on a trip everytime I have birthday gifts to buy ๐Ÿ˜„
His birthday isnโ€™t until April 14th. ๐Ÿ˜

A huge chunk of the day was spent uploading the weekend post.
Choosing only a select amount of photos to show you all and then the internet wasnโ€™t working, not wanting to give tooo much info and bore you all but also wanting to give enough to be interesting.
It all takes time ๐Ÿ˜

Checked the mail and found a package waiting for me!
The next item for the upcoming giveaway arrived and It turned out great โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ’•

It was Tuesday and since Tuesday is fish truck day in the village close to us, so Mike was picking up kibbeling for supper and I was making fries ๐Ÿ˜Š

( Pro and Josh were both jealous of our supper… its one meal they’ve been missing since their Europe trip ๐Ÿ˜œ )

I tried to take some pictures of the glass pen during the day and also attempted using it.

It turned out to be a tad trickier then I at first thought but I got the angel eventually.
Mike also decided to take a turn at his glass penmanship before his soccer game started ๐Ÿ˜

He had told me soccer was on that night so that meant I could get a backrubโ€ฆ ok๐Ÿ˜€ Haha.

Later that evening we facetimed mom and dad โ˜บ๏ธ

Dad told Mike to adjust the tension on the mouse traps so we could finally catch some of the rodents invading the attic!
Invading the attic may be a stretchโ€ฆ we havenโ€™t found evidence of mice anywhere in the house besides the attic so that’s something to be super thankful about at least ๐Ÿ™ƒ

(Donโ€™t be grossed out future guests ๐Ÿ˜ฌ)

Hello humans ๐Ÿ˜Š This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life ๐Ÿ˜Š

  1. I must say unfortunately I have had to sleep at another homes where mice could also be heard in the ceiling as well as having to jump on a toilet as one scurried across the bathroom. (You all know who you are). As well there has been an odd country mouse make its way inside of our home. Still hate them! Good luck with the trapline.
