Invading Germany By Nightfall πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ‡³πŸ‡±

Thursday 28th –

Thursday morning was fairly uneventful, spent drinking coffee and writing.

Though there was packing to do as we had decided to head to Germany once Mike was done work.

Mike brought snacks back for he and I to wolf down and then Aunty and Miles made it over and we chucked our bags in the trunk and hit the road πŸ›£πŸ‘œ

He ordered some different fries that are made using mashed potatoes and they were actually super good!🍟

Aunty had just bought me some lovely tulips so I hoped they lasted over the weekend πŸ˜‰πŸ’

It was around a 4.5 hr drive and we made it to ‘Hotel Avalon’ by 9:30 pm.

We dropped off our bags, used the bathrooms, coated up and headed to explore Schwerin by night.

The streets were chilly but seeing a town by night first, always makes it more interesting to wake up to the next day.

The castle we had come to see looked a tad menacing in the dark and the streets were pretty much completely empty except for us, making it one of the quietest places we had explored yet.

The restaurants we passed were either closing or didn’t sound appetizing so we walked on, keeping an eye out for somewhere to go for a late bite.

Finding an open restaurant Aunty, Miles and Mike shared some bruschetta and BBQ ribs.

I was satisfied with hot chocolate and a creme brΓ»lΓ©e, which Michiel helped to finish as well😏

We ventured back out but the chill in the air made me beg Mike to let us leave any further exploration until the morning πŸ˜‹

We got back to the hotel around midnight and went to bed, trying to rest up for the next days adventures. πŸ—ΊπŸ’€

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
