Tennis And Swamp Monsters πŸΈπŸŽΎ

Thursday 5th-

Mike had Thursday off due to a Dutch holiday day.

The sun shining in our room mixed with bird song meant my morning started earlier then Mikes.

Making coffee, straightening up and then sitting down to write and enjoy my blueberry muffin and coffee…letting myself catch up with the morning with each sip and nibble πŸ˜‹

Also enjoyed were these beautiful flowers Aunty bought me before she left.
I now easily have a second favourite flower along with ranunculus πŸ˜πŸ’•πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

I am a terrible NON h2o drinker.
The only water I’d drink during a day is the brown kind, coffee.
I have my morning coffee, my evening coffee and those are the only liquids I consume all day, soo I decided to try to drink at least one small pitcher of water a day.

(Thanks in part to moms pushing πŸ˜πŸ’§)
It’s not sooo hard but it’s the whole going to the bathroom 5,000 times that is getting old real quick 😜

Mike had found a car to possibly buy and resell but it needed to be checked out in person, so off we drove to Friesland.
The car turned out to be a no go due to a fishy feeling after the test drive and chat with the owner but we made use of our drive out to that area by going for an hour long walk/jog along the water.

Once we got back to the cottage the freezer was raided, ice cream retrieved, blanket spread out on the lawn and sunshine soaked up while enjoying our sweet reward for moving 😜

We need to work on our exercise/after exercise logic, I know πŸ˜†

I mixed up some iced coffee for later that evening and used some delicious caramel sauce we had got from Starbucks (best caramel sauce ever πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ»)

We joined forces to make some wraps for supper and ate them while watching soccer😏

Friday 6th –

Mikes jeans had all been wearing out (due to being old, not due to any weight gain πŸ˜‰).
So a shopping trip was in order and because of the driving distance and time etc. we decided to head to Doesburg for the weekend.

It was slightly unexpected so a rush packing job, clean up and lunch came together as quickly as possible.
Steak was taken out the day before so it had to be used up, thus sautΓ©ed steak.

I was feeling a tad artsy 😜

We made it to Arnhem and began shopping.
Mike found jeans and I found some shirts, it was a successful trip!
Which honestly, how often does that happen when you’re  LOOKING for something specific?πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Mike had booked us an hour at the tennis courts so we dropped our stuff at John and Inges (whom were in Az. at the time), changed into our sport attire, washed our fruit, filled our water bottles and headed off to tennis it up
πŸ˜πŸŽΎπŸ’¦

Blackberries, blueberries and granola was our pre tennis snack and it was actually very satisfying 😊

Slightly surprising as it wasn’t fries or meat 😜

I’ve played badminton but never tennis.
Meaning lots of running after balls and not much actual playing of tennis but by the end, with Mikes fairly patient coaching, it wasn’t going to badly 😊

It’s probably a good thing we weren’t playing very well because that much running back and forth in +25 wouldn’t have been pleasant.

Though once our hour was up we did go for a quick jog through the nearby hills.

All the leaves and blooms were opening in full force and along the one drive Mike really likes, they were creating a lovely nature like hallway.

We eventually made it back to John and Inge’s.
Tiredly managing to shower and clean up and then Mike went out to get us Snacks for supper.

Sleeping came a little trickily because of the hot weather and annoying frog noises carried in through the open window.

The frogs in Holland sound like small dogs or swamp monsters 😳🐸
Mike asked how Sask. frogs sound and though I couldn’t imitate ours, they sound much more relaxing and song like.

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
