Charred Cherries And Bonding Time πŸ’

Friday Aug 5th –

Friday I didn’t do much either πŸ™ˆ

Venturing out side I sat on the deck, trying to soak up as much sun as possible since who knows how much sun I’ll be seeing once I’m back in rainy Holland 😏
Also, gotta love having the actual privacy of a yard without ten neighbours being able to see you 😜🏘

Mom had worked on making cherry jelly/syrup the day before but she wasn’t happy with how it was setting so she was re-boiling it.
We got distracted and it boiled over…twice πŸ™ˆ
The first time it wasn’t too bad.
The sticky mess was scoured clean by Mom, as it was her mess to clean.
The second time however, it cooked onto the element much harder and didn’t smell so pleasant, smoking the house up enough for the fire alarm to go off😜 Resulting in the security people calling to check if everything was okay.
It was, just burnt jelly is all  πŸ˜

The stuff remaining did thicken though and it was enjoyed over pancakes for supper πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ’

After supper and coffee had been finished off, I drove over to Nathin’s for some brother/sister bonding time.
Otherwise known as a movie night πŸ˜œπŸΏπŸ‘«
It was a good movie night and around three hours later I was heading back to the house 😏

Saturday Aug 6th –

Garbage day in the hamlet of MacDowall, meaning Becca was a dear and came and got ours to take with theirs.

Leaving Spencer with me momentarily, which was nice but also long enough as I know not the ways of babies and what’s needed to comfort them besides sleeping and eating 😬

Once she was back she decided to hang out for a while, which turned into most of the day πŸ˜‹πŸ˜Š
Lounging on the deck, relaxing and chatting just like old times.
Being home this long has been awesome, but making old habits and daily rituals slide back into place which makes it feel as though I never really left.
Reality will be hitting hard πŸ˜”

Nathin golfs not far from home (a little obsessively if you ask me but not many people do πŸ˜πŸ˜‹β›³οΈ) and had said the golf course served food.

We decided to take a break from supper making and dish washing and all go there to eat πŸ™‚

Once home I had the incessant urge for a cup of coffee.
That urge is normal and real through much of the day but there is just those other times when nothing sounds better than a fresh brew 😍
Though it was nearing 8 Dad made a pot for me and we all sipped in the aromatic drink.
Really we have drank it too much, so I’m not actually sure how much the whole caffeine part takes effect, making it a perfectly acceptable before bed drink πŸ˜β˜•οΈ

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊

  1. Third time was a charm😳NoπŸ”₯πŸ‘πŸ» I am touched that you would take credit for distracting me although I don’t remember it being you. If you were partly to blame you could have scoured some too😏
