A Couple Of ‘Packed’ Days πŸ“¦πŸŽ’

Tuesday Aug 9th –

The day came to clean out my old room, entirely.
Odds and ends had been sorted and put away at different times and Mom had previously packed up the wedding and shower gifts (that we wish we could be using 😜)
But now everything had to be taken out, containers added to and small items around the room packed with them so Mom can make use of that area of the house once again.

As I was sorting, photos needed to be taken of weddings supplies so they could be listed for sale, priced and re-packed again.

It was a slow process 😁

Mom helped with that off and on and then we started pricing a few odds and ends in preparation for a garage sale, someday 😜

She also prepared us a bowl of cereal topped with strawberries πŸ˜ŠπŸ“

Next space to go through was the book shelves.
Mom is pressuring us kids to get our items out of her home 😜
Funny how books can bring so many memories of times past, even though the stories inside really had little effect on the memories made.

Mom would read chapter books aloud to us as kids and it was some of the best spent afternoons, begging her to read just one more chapter πŸ˜πŸ“šβ€οΈ

A little bit of paperwork was looked through…trying to be read, understood and completed but the government doesn’t make that an easy process πŸ™„
So I instead focused on supper.
Well… supper after a family jog πŸ˜πŸ˜‹

Dad, Mom and I headed out and completed a 4km jog.
Not far for them, who do double that no problem… but far enough for me 😬😜
(For now😎)

Our appetites grew and the crab (thanks Daddy) steak and rice was prepared πŸ˜

He also gave me one last foot rub before heading downstairs to watch the now typical ‘before bed Murdoch Mystery’ πŸ˜‹β€οΈ

Wednesday Aug 10th –

It was a packing, cleaning, crafting and everything in between kind of day 😁

I awoke at a decent time (for once😏😜) and mom and I got to work finishing filling in some details on the paperwork I was filling out.
Much of it requires financial/past work information that I wouldn’t have access to once I left home, so it had to be done πŸ˜–
How I hate paperwork.
Thank you for the help Mom, couldn’t have done it without you!
Literally. 😘

Once that was struck off the checklist we did a quick house cleaning, lunch eating and coffee drinking before we settled down to craft a little.

Mother created a masterful decorative banner by hand and it looked like it was professionally printed at a store πŸ™„
Her amount of talent never fails to disgust me and make me question my legitimate relation to her πŸ˜‹

See exactly what she made by going to her Instagram πŸ“·πŸ˜Š

I worked on painting a shirt, with some guidance from her 😊

Those things ended up taking hour (as we kind of suspected they would) so supper was soup and a casserole from the freezer 😁🍡🍴

The soup was good but Mom had frozen it thinking it would be for two people not three, so split by all of us it wasn’t an overly large portion each…which technically isn’t a bad thing but with mothers soup you can’t help wanting more then needed πŸ˜‰
The casserole was fine, not bad by any means… but the cheesecake we remembered we had from Becca washed it down nicely πŸ˜πŸ˜œπŸ‘ŒπŸ»

I stayed up fairly late, starting the process of sorting, folding and gathering so packing would go quickly the next morning…

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
