Overestimating, It’s In My Genes

Saturday Aug 27th –

Our entire day was spent working on the DIY kids kitchen 😜

We slept in and then John needed us to go to the store so we drove the few minutes there and the stars were aligned finally or something because we found some rather evasive items for the kids kitchen, which we hadn’t been able to find the whole day before πŸ˜πŸ™„πŸ˜

Once we were back at the house it was simply (or not so simply) the destruction and revamping of the 3€ tv table until that evening 😏
The amount of work was just a bit more than expected, it’s going to be a 500€ kids kitchen 😜

Golden power was our energizer as well as more coffees picked up by Mike.

Spotted this bee getting some of his own golden power, he was cooovered in pollen🐝🌸

A few more quick trips into town were taken throughout the day for other necessities and a full outlining of the day will be better told at a later date.
Judith and the kids came to the house during the day as well.

Mike was sent out to fetch supper, pizza and barbershop were then split up and eaten outside… In the dark 😜

Sunday Aug 28th –

The mugginess often found pre storm was in the air and though cloudy, the heat was still penetrating enough to make the church service slightly stifling.

We had Tim and Elaine in the car on the way to church and Elaine and Amy on the way back and I can’t say the mixture of constant noise, seat kicking, children’s music and singing made me any more kid enthused then I already am😏

There’s a lake nearby that the others were going to and Mike was requested to bring coffee so we went out and sat there for a while.
While sitting we got to see this guy…

something not commonly witnessed at home😜

It was pretty breezy so the water was only tested by the kids😏

That evening I began working in earnest on my first crochet project done since my younger years 😁
It was going much easier and quicker then I had remembered and I told mom that.
She in turn laughed and said she maaaaay have pushed a project a bit ahead of my capabilities when I first attempted it 😜

Four balls of yarns were used up and I believe another four shall be required… I may have chosen an overly large first project, overestimating may run in my genes 😏

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
