ο»Ώ15 Quirks Of Jess

15 things about me, the oh sooo interesting Jess 😏

I know my sleeping and eating patterns are growing old so I will be trying to throw in the odd ‘Jess’ facts and I don’t know what else yet but it shall come to me eventually 😁

May this be a slightly interesting refresher, enjoy *said accompanied by a flourishy hand motion* 😏

1 β€’ I grew up on the prairies of Saskatchewan so I love wide open spaces and mountains make me feel claustrophobic. They are pretty from afar and momentarily but then I’m over it and want out πŸ”

2β€’ I don’t get excited super easily and if I enjoy something it usually comes out later not at the moment, but at the same time the smallest things spark childlike joy (that I should probably be embarrassed about 😝) such as multi color sprinkles, kittens/cats, getting to touch my first dolphin and polaroid pictures.

3β€’ (Some of these will be thanks to hubby reminding me about myself 😜 It is harder to remember stuff about yourself then you may think ) I don’t enjoy speaking the small, smaaaaall amount of Dutch I know but Mike can get a lot more of it out of me if it’s late, I’m getting tired and we are ready for bed.

4β€’ Back at home I enjoy cutting the grass (on a riding mower of course😁) it may seem mundane considering I usually get bored quickly, but it’s something even Pro and I take turns doing if we are home at the same time cause we both want to do it πŸ˜‹

5β€’ I love food. Which could be one of the biggest things Mike and I have in common 😁 We can’t go out to town without finding food somewhere, our vacation expenses are mostly meals and our souvenirs mean a suitcase packed with food πŸ™ˆ

6β€’ I have a vivid imagination and love thinking up, and speaking in extravagant scenarios and words.
The lively imagination shows via expressions.
If you know me at all, you know my face tells of my feelings loudly, my eyebrows and eyes staying still no longer then .5 of a second and betraying my true feelings even when I’d rather they not show πŸ˜πŸ™„

7β€’ I love action and adventure movies.
Girly ones have their place but give me a James Bond/Iron Man/Batman/Sherlock Holmes, things with fast cars, chases and mystery and those will be chosen every time. Lamborghinis, Bugatti’s and Ferrari’s are always welcomed 😏❀️

8β€’ I may enjoy watching car chases but I actually hate driving. I didn’t get my license until I was 18 just because I didn’t want to go for it and disliked driving. I have my license now but I’ve driven a total of three times since I married Mike in October 2015, and I’m perfectly fine with that. All three times were back home on the country gravel road between my parents house and my brothers πŸ˜†
If I can make a plan so I don’t need to be behind the wheel, I do it that way πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

9β€’ I am stubborn and sarcastic. I have noooo idea where those genes came from but they are there none the less😏

10β€’ I enjoy painting, drawing and creating. I have used watercolors the most but I have also played around with acrylics, marker and pencil. The other created or attempted things are endless🎨

11β€’ Salt and Vinegar. The one flavour I don’t know what I’d do without. If I crave something more times than not it is salt and when I was younger (k still sometimes even now) I would drink the little packets of vinegar from restaurants. I probably shouldn’t mention the whole ‘smoked farmers sausage, dipped in vinegar’ thing either but oops, it’s out. Blame my dad for teaching me that one 😜 Pickle juice is a close second πŸ˜‰

12β€’ As much as I love big words and extraordinary ways of wording things… those words elude me in conversation. I am not gifted in small talk and when in such situations I lose most of my normal words, much less words that take slightly more thought 😬 I am an introvert. Big time.

13β€’ I love coffee with much vigour… when it’s isn’t European coffee πŸ™ˆ

14β€’ I’m blessed beyond measure with the family God has given me. They are there no matter what and we know we can always count on each other ❀️

15β€’ I am a christian. I believe in God and that He gave His son to die for us and take our sin and shame so we didn’t have to. The biggest, most painful thing someone could do, just so we in our simple, (most of the time unthankful) lives, could realize what He has done for us and how much He loves us.πŸ’’

Hopefully this wasn’t the most boring list ever read and you’ve learnt something about me you didn’t yet know.

Do you know of a ‘Jess quirk’ I missed? If so, remind me of it in the comments please πŸ˜‰

Yes Mom, you are thinking of the baby blanket I slept with for 20 years and would still be sleeping with if it wasn’t at risk of crumbling into nothingness πŸ˜πŸ’•

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊

  1. Well of course there are more things I could add but maybe you will have a part two post somewhere down the road.
    Ok…here’s a couple you didn’t add…
You can crack almost every one in your body without a chiropractor, for which I am jealous.
Clothes can sometimes line the floor but a crooked picture frame on the wall drives you crazy.
You barely let out out a noise when scared but go limp like a faintin goat.
I will stop, luv ya 😘
