One Door Opened And Another Door Closed

Friday Sept 23rd –

The door to fall seemed to finally crack open here, so it was time to break out the new long sleeve shirt and post wedding attending-beach wave, pony tail hair πŸ˜πŸ’•
(Long, overly descriptive sentence I know😝)

Mike and I headed to Arnhem on a mission to find some more clothing for ‘We Nomads’.
And the mission was accomplished πŸ‘«πŸ‘•πŸ›

We managed to find, select and then downsize our selection and make it out of town with a bag full of things to take to the embroidery shop πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ»
That much decision making meant we needed some nourishment, found in the form of the very typical, very Dutch fries with mayo and peanut sauce.

After a quick, design/consolation stop at the house, we drove the goods off and now it’s a waiting game until we get the call to pick’em up and send’em out! πŸ˜„

I know it’s not my project, but I must admit I really enjoy the process of it all.
The finding, tweaking designs, writing up information for said products ✍🏻
And Mike is kind enough to indulge my tendency to take over and we worked together whilst sipping our test of the chai tea mix we bought and we will be buying more 😎

(I hope πŸ˜‹)

We went over to Sarah’s to visit her and the girls for a little bit and then it was my lucky night because I got to eat DΓΆner kebab all by myself, no sharing since Mike had already eaten leftover pasta 😏😜

It’s the little things about marriage that you sometimes don’t realize matter, like always having to share all the good food 😝

Saturday Sept 24th –

Brunch was eaten and the next memorable thought was that lunch needed to be found 😜
The human brain, such a wonder and yet ours seem extremely small and mainly food focussed.

We went into town and got kibbeling for lunch and then checked out a new homey/accessory store across the street😊
A few other shops were perused, groceries bought and then back to the car to go check out the second hand store quickly.

But somewhere between groceries and getting to the second hand store, tragedy struck.
Literally.
I closed my head in the car door…
I blame Holland as it has crazy small parking lots, which caused Mike to park in an itsy bitsy space, which made me have to squeeeeze into the car since I wasn’t able to open the door very wide.
Causing it to spring back and be stopped from closing completely, only by my head.

A headache then came along to the second hand store but was momentarily relieved after a find, was found!
An old school desk that needed some TLC and will hopefully be used as a painting/blogging desk once we get into the apartment πŸ˜„

The day before I had spotted a rug in the sale corner of IKEA and I was trying to decide if it was a good color combo with the other colors I was thinking of for the apartment.
I decided it was, (with the help of the mom and sisterπŸ˜‰) but too late πŸ˜”
Sadly, it was sold and all my daydreams about on point decor that I’d had throughout the day were crushed.

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊

  1. I think maybe you can blame the small parking lots but I seem to remember another time while you were in AZ that you got a fat lip from my car door 😜 So mayhap it’s just you and car doors that have a problem πŸ™ˆπŸ˜˜

  2. Oh no Jess!! Be careful you adventurous couple! Next time try some of that deliciously sounding ice cream and sprinkles to lighten the headache;) I’m guessing it will be a great relief! Cold is supposed to help with injuries….;) hah
