Head Sprinkler

Friday Oct 28th –

The Canadian coffee beans were nearly all used up, a cause worthy for concern πŸ˜¬β˜•οΈ

I started my day by getting the cake decorated.

A fairly quick task but one that always leaves me unsatisfied with the result and sick of icing😜

Guests were bound to arrive so of course that meant a house cleaning.
Ah, such a nice feeling once done β˜ΊοΈβœ¨πŸ›‹

The boys flew in to Amsterdam and picked up another guest on their drive back.

Heidi and Ezra hung out with us for the rest of the day and we had a nice, laid back evening together.
The boys being a tad tired from being up at 5:00 am 😁

I made some bread with tomato and mozza for the travellers to snack on pre meal.

Supper was the soup made the day before joined by some freshly made cheese biscuits.

Dinner was eaten cross-legged at the small round coffee table in the living room and with us all sipping our soup it felt rather oriental,
but the hearty farmers sausage didn’t fit that food description😜

Between chatting and us girls opening the gifts our boys brought back for us, cake, coffee and tea was eventually brought out and served
πŸ˜Šβ˜•οΈπŸŽ

But all good things must come to an end and our evening together eventually did, with plans for another quickly in the making 😊

Saturday Oct 29th –

The night before, I threw back the sheets to find a box of macaroons waiting for me, so I bet you can guess what breakfast was πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

(Maybe hubby should go on work trips more often πŸ™ˆ)

Coffee was made with a new bag of coffee beans… it was awful πŸ™„
So a search for something drinkable would soon be in order.

We got a box from the town with coupons in it as a welcome gift, a nice little gesture.

Coupons for groceries, stores, football and more! πŸ˜€πŸŽ«πŸŽ

We had to go into town for some groceries, returns etc. etc. after which it was time for a family nap in the nap room 😊
I went to sleep first and after a while Mike joined me… we woke up to Fiji stretched out by us as well.

Quality family time πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ˜‹

We bought a plant on our town trip!

Everyone, meet Orlando Bloom πŸ˜‚
Yes I named him, yes I think it’s hilarious, no Mike didn’t think it was that funny, he can deal with it😏

Supper was quickly fried up so I could get to the work of making mini cupcakes, as there was something that needed celebrating.
Our 10th niece had been born!πŸ‘ΆπŸ»
A trip to meet her was planned for the next day, so we couldn’t go empty handed πŸ˜‰πŸ’•

Mike went to the store quickly for a coffee bean search so we could have some good java the next morning and he also grabbed some food coloring for the icing.
(What kinda food coloring salesman doesn’t have food coloring for his wife?)

Mike didn’t care a bit about the whole baking process but come icing time, of course he wanted to get his hands in on the only fun partπŸ˜πŸ˜‹

He gave up his icing career quickly though and I moved him to the position of head sprinkler 😜

He did extremely well πŸ˜‰

After everything was cleaned up and packed away I got to sit down and enjoy a footrub😘

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊

    1. Thank you! They better after how many hours it took with one little tray baked at a time πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‹

When filling the icing bag you just scoop the white in on one side of the bag and the pink in on the other.. If that makes sense πŸ™ˆ
