Friday Nov 11 –
Felt worse than ever upon waking up, aching again and a constantly running nose π
And we’ve even been eating fruit lately! π³π
Yogurt and granola was Mikes breakfast of choice, last of the French toast casserole for me and then we got ready to head to Doesburg.
Farewells had to be said to John and Inge since they were leaving for their holiday, so we went over there for a little bit before doing some errands in town.
We left with food since their fridge had to be emptied so stuff didn’t go bad πππ»
In Doesburg we planned on restocking our coffee bean supply but they were ‘closed due to circumstances’… π³ Now, I really do hope they weren’t bad circumstances and everything was ok… but what about OUR circumstances?? What are we supposed to do if we run out of their beans, our black gold, java, happy juice, the stuff that lets me PERSON?!βοΈ
I had a gift certificate from Inge to use at a store in Doesburg too, so we went there to take a peek and see if it couldn’t be used π
It could be!
Love how lots of stores here wrap stuff cutely in case it’s a gift ππ
Next we got Mike some sunglasses since he had a credit to use too and then from there we went to the pet shop for a new mouse and catnip for Fiji…he’s getting a belly π¬π
Back at the appartement we tested the effect catnip had on Fiji, he actually did like it and acted a bit more playful, not for long though… his future is looking fatter by the minute.
Mike was probably on his phone and then he went to the nap room and I would have followed but I was nice and warm in my blanket cocoon on the couch so I slept there, and we each had a lovely napβ€οΈ
Mike was the supper maker (I think he read the blog and seen what I said about him slacking in breakfast making and he’s trying to make up for it ππ)
Grilled ham and cheese sandwiches, which they actually call ‘toasties’ not just grilled sandwich but whatever, melted cheese tastes the same by any other name ππ
Saturday Nov 12th –
Breakfast by none other than Mike… π
I sliced up what turned out to be a delicious mango, to accompany our eggs and bacon.
Mike was determined to go for a walk.
Usually he suggests it right after I’ve showered and have wet hair and that’s my excuse to get out of it but I had no excuse and deep down inside knew it wasn’t a BAD idea so we headed out.
First stopping by to see our vegetable man and get another squash π
He had ordered four and though a few days had passed, three still remained so hopefully the two we bought made enough to cover his cost cause I can’t see a lot of Dutch buying them π
After that we drove to a little walking area and began our trek.
There are a LOT of leaves here so it does make for a pretty stroll, though I kind of want to pick up every interesting looking one but there’s so many I couldn’t chose and left with none insteadπ
It is cold though.
This coming from a Canadian who no, probably hasn’t weathered all that much awful weather since I prefer staying safe and warm inside, but also knows the bite of -40 give or take some windchill π¨π¨
And it’s a different cold here in Holland.
The high humidity levels mixed with a hefty breeze make for some face numbing, chill inducing weather and thus, my dislike for fall/winter walks.
I enjoy being warm.
Plus… walks have no point.
(There is that whole ‘healthy’ thing but..)
‘Where are we going?’
‘Oh, just back to the car we just left.’
‘Are we trying to find a shop or store?’
‘No just enjoying the sound of city around us.’
‘There’s a bird can I shoot it, is this a partridge hunt?’
‘Nope that’s just a pigeon…’ π
See, pointlessπ
I’d rather bond by a pool π
Mike grabbed us two nasi balls to eat and then leftover brownie finished off our late bite to eatππ»
Pretty sure Mike had soccer or something to watch and I decided to open up the beads I had bought the day before and see what I felt inspired to do with themπ
Mike got hungry so supper got made, very easy reheated squash and fried pre-seasoned pork schnitzel.
Mike had also bought some cheesy garlic spread for bread and it was really nice π
(Really hoping there’s some pre-seasoned stuff to find that I never noticed whenever we get back to Canada π)
After supper we just kinda hung out and relaxed, watching some more ‘Fixer Upper’, luckily for me, Mike enjoys home reno shows ππ
Though he did get tired after some time so he and Fiji napped, I drew ππ€βπ»οΈ
Yes I hope the coffee bean suppliers circumstances weren’t bad, but I can understand your fear factor π
Like seeing your drawings being done daily. Both inspires me and makes me jealous of my limited time factor and daunting tasks I am trying to complete before you come to -40 below country π as you know my list grew this weekend instead of decreasing. Not sure where you will be sleeping.

Yeah you have a bit more going on then me sooo I get that your time for drawing is limited… could also have to do with the fact that I load the first drawing and you only load your 500th π
I’m okay sleeping almost anywhere if I’m home with you’s β€
