Happy Fake German Thanksgiving πŸ—πŸ½πŸž

Friday Nov 25th –

After a quick breakfast of coffee and muffins we picked up Annett from the train station nearby and then drove to Germany to check out a shopping outlet for the morning.

It was a chilly but bright day and shops were entered hopefully and left empty handedly… it was not a successful shopping day for any us, besides Mike finding one shirt.
But that’s not much after leaving an outlet full of sales 😏

We had lunch there as well, at a Chinese buffet.

Little did we know it would mean a crazy long waiting time 😳
The line was long and the people ahead of us took their sweet time, heaping their plates as high as they could while we waited our turn as patiently and hungrily as we could 😬🍴

We left the outlet and began the drive to Annett’s.
I got a nap in during the drive, due to late night dessert making πŸ˜‹

I said to Mike I must officially be growing up if staying up till 2 am makes me tired by before noon the next day, since I recall staying up till 5 am with friends and our parents would look at us in disgust and ask whyyy we would do that?

I’m starting to understand why they asked πŸ˜©πŸ˜œ

We got to the house, enjoyed some coffees and then parted ways, Susie and I going out to get some thanksgiving groceries πŸ˜‹

What was the first thing I seen upon entering the grocery store?
Spaghetti squash, a big ol’ barrel of squashes… which we wasted how much time searching for back in Holland? 😜

Once we picked out the ingredients it was back to the house to begin meal preps.
Us girls got to the peeling, chopping, mixing, cracking eggs onto the table, meal preps.

It was the most relaxed, unworried meal preparing for 8 people I’ve ever been involved in and it was a new, good feeling to feel in a kitchen with 5 woman πŸ˜„πŸ˜œ

The meal was delicious and very appreciated, especially by the American guest who had dreamt of big fat American turkeys the whole day before 😏

After the meal we got to sit, chat and enjoy each other’s company ☺️
Talking, story telling, eating more and some game playing filled up our evening and it was a gooder πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Saturday Nov 26th –

The laziest day, like, ever…

We slept in after our late night out and then literally just chilled in our pj’s on the couch most of the day 😜

It was an extremely foggy day.
We couldn’t even see the apartment building across from us so in a way it felt like we lived miles high, up in the clouds 🏒☁️

The most exciting part of the day was when Mike said he’d go out to get the few groceries we needed alone because I didn’t feel like the amount of work it would take to shower, do my hair and be presentable was worth a bag or two of lettuce when Mike could just put a coat on and be out and back before I would even be done showering pretty much 😜

He’s a dear most of the time πŸ˜ŠπŸ›

(And then there’s those times he outright tells me he just FEELS like aggravating me because it’s fun?
Why do guys dooooo that?? πŸ™„πŸ™ˆ)

When he was leaving for the store the sun peeked out momentarily, making for a lovely moment of pinks amidst the foggy evening.

He went back out later to get us nasi balls for supperπŸ˜‹

Oh and p.s, I transplanted my plant into this lovely pink bowl because the paint was doing really weird stuff and we couldn’t eat out of anymore, she still needs a name though πŸ˜‰

Just thought I’d tell you cause she looks pretty πŸ˜‹
