Routine Returns

Monday Dec 5th –

Mike was supposed to make everyone bacon and eggs but then I slept in, Mark was happy with yogurt and granola and maybe Mike was lazy 😉

Either way it was fine and they actually left the house to go for a walk in the hills before I was really out of bed.
Mark can’t sit still any better than Mike so they don’t make for a real relaxed pair 😏

I cleaned, did laundry, drew and soaked up the silence until they returned.

I was going to make supper for them but they had eaten a late lunch and didn’t want one, so there went my good deed of the day 😜

After one last evening of visiting together it was time to drive Mark to the airport and say our farewells.
He was a nice chap and got us Starbucks and I embarrassingly went all classic white girl and had to take a (few) picture… sometimes I disgust myself 😏😬❤️

It was a fun long weekend and we ended it with schnitzels and a home reno show back at the house 🛠🍴

Tuesday Dec 6th –

Mike went back to work at the office and I had the house to myself once again.

I’m such a narrow minded human in my desire for routine 🙈

Inspiration for the daily drawing had been fading in and out, lessening daily but one last spark peeked through that morning and I made one of my favourite daily verse sketches yet.

(As you may have guessed, the photo does have a filter 😬
It’s true to what I did but with brighter colors and a cleaner background since I don’t have those colors available to me.)

I enjoyed a little cheese and cracker tray for lunch… reminding me of how much I miss the perfect side to go with those things, sour dill pickles 😞

But that shall be remedied sooooon 😎

Blogging was attempted to be caught up on, something easier said then done once a few too many days slip by…

Garlic bread, fried potatoes, cucumber salad and schnitzel were prepared for supper 🍴

Mike then had a soccer game to watch and I had a foot… touch, to receive.
I say touch because as much as he THINKS he rubs steadily enough to have tired hands, he really uses my feet as more of a… hand rest, since the game is sooooo exhilarating 😏⚽️

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
