Completing (and adding to) The List

Friday Dec 9th –

Nom, nom, nom πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ»β˜•οΈπŸ’•

We had some stuff to get done pre Canada and Friday was the day to get it done!

We got ready and then went into Doesburg to get a start at it.
First place we stumbled upon was a new little shop with an assortment of handmade items and there we were able to check an item off the list, which hadn’t even been on the list πŸ˜‹

(Does anyone else write things down on their list just so they can cross it off to feel good about what they got done ? πŸ™ˆ)

I looked around an antique type store while Mike went to get a parking ticket and I found some goodies that needed to leave with us, so when Mike got back we went to buy them but before we could do that he got talking to the owner and she showed him a very old, literally giant-sized, atlas.

It was very cool but not 150 euros cool, specially when Mike doesn’t have his own office and our apartment space is already limited without a giants book in it, no matter how cool πŸ˜‰

So it was left and a linen map from the 1930’s was purchased for him instead πŸ˜‹

Next, Mike showed a store with a super impressive camera collection πŸ˜³πŸ“½πŸ“·

We bumped into Inge, Judith and the kids during our errands and agreed to pop over for a coffee once we finished everything else on our list πŸ˜‰πŸ“

Much was done and we felt pretty accomplished so we went over to Inge’s for a while and were happily seated and served oliebollen.

One last stop, a huge Christmas market/store set up in full Christmas decorated glory and pomp.
We asked exactly where to go for what we needed and it still took us probably almost 10 min. to get there but we found what we were looking for and more, so it was all for a good cause in the end πŸ˜‹

The ‘MORE’ in that sentence was these little cactuses πŸ˜πŸ’•πŸŒ΅

Where they will go or why we really needed them?
No idea 😏

The things actually needed were air plants for our wall decor!

Mom sent me these gold gem wall pieces and I’d seen them used to hold air plants and it was high time to put them up.

Supper was Thai chicken from the freezer and fried potatoes, fried potatoes are for sure overused in this relationship but oh well, we aren’t complaining 😜

By the time the day was done we had gotten much done and had a nice day together annnnd my head cold was returning…?

(Lack of purchased item details due to upcoming holidaysπŸ˜‰ )

Saturday Dec 10th –

Back to being sick.
Head aching, sneezing, nose running, dizzy sick.
It was getting ridiculous already, how long can one germ live on?!
Long I guess …

Laying on the couch covered with blankets was an accurate description of the whole day.

I got a drawing done but wasn’t thrilled with the outcome but didn’t have enough drive to try for a better one.

BBC Animal Planet was watched once again and again Fiji enjoyed it.

It’s a great family time for us, thanks BBCπŸ˜œπŸ’•

Mike wanted a French toast casserole for the next morning so I crawled up off the couch and slaved over that through the dizziness and the aching… sometimes I wife well 😏😜

A few other preparations had to be made for the next day and then an 11:00 pm bowl of tomato soup made up our late supper/pre bedtime snack.

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
