Playing The Elimination Game

Tuesday Dec 13th –

The last bracelet order was completed and the mini tags to go along with πŸ˜πŸ’ŽπŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Many little things had to be done, last minute cards wrote, gifts packed and Fiji and his supplies had to be ready to be taken to Mikes parents until we return.

We took one last family photo and then went over to Oma and Opa’s 😊

Reminiscing over last years family photo taken around the same time… they grow so quickly πŸ˜‹

Oma and Opa had a lovely table spread out for us and an apple and walnut dessert was waiting πŸŽβ˜•οΈ

We enjoyed a small visit there and then said our goodbyes as we wouldn’t be seeing them again before leaving for Canada.

Back to the house to quickly pick up the then terrified Fiji.
He’s actually moved a fair amount of times so you’d think it wouldn’t scare him so much, but he’s petrified and shakes for most of the journey, making me feel evil πŸ˜£

We dropped Fiji off to his vacation home, assuming he would be much pleased with the ability to go outdoors again.
He’ll probably hate us when we bring him back to the apartment πŸ™„

Anyways, after that adventure Mike took me into Doesburg to get my nails done 😁
‘Beauty Heaven’ proved to be a nice little shop with a lovely, floral accent wall and probably the nicest manicure I have ever left a shop withπŸ‘ŒπŸ»

I was done sooner than expected so I began walking towards where Michiel would be driving to get me.

Doesburg has the holiday lights up now so it was a pretty little walk 😊✨

Though little indeed as I didn’t know all that well where I should be going so it was more like a few steps and a pause, trying to look like I belonged and really wasn’t at all confused πŸ˜‹

We had been invited to Sarah and Erwin’s for supper (popularity comes with departure it seems πŸ˜‹) and we got to enjoy another tasty mozza and cheese, meatball pasta 🍝

We visited awhile and enjoyed an espresso cream dessert before leaving a tad quickly so Michiel could make it for one last soccer practice 😏

I got to do laundry, prepare suitcases and submit to the sudden urge to declutter the guest bed storage area ? πŸ˜œπŸŽ’πŸ“¦πŸ‘–πŸ‘—
Seems like leaving resulted in the need to do extra cleaning… I do believe it’s something that I inherited so don’t think it’s simply me that’s weirdπŸ˜‹

Sleep came slowly that night, delayed greatly by MUCH coughing πŸ™„

Wednesday Dec 14th –

Packing day 😬

But before any of that could get started, I needed to get back on track with my daily verse drawings, which are almost completed if I’m supposed to do 30 like the challenge said😏

A day ‘packed’ with decisions and large puzzles of clothing and gifts to manipulate into in the shape of black fabric boxes on wheels 😏

Once all the gifty things were sorted, out came the clothes, between all the loads of laundry😬

The elimination game was played for some time and eventually the stacks of clothes got down to the appropriate size 😐

So thankful Mike packs his own stuff πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ˜œ
(Which he would have to do after work because hadn’t felt like it in his free time the previous day? 😏)

The fridge was cleaned and also the apartment, plants watered, Orlando unfortunately went to a plastic grave as his blooms had fallen and Mike dubbed him worthless to keep πŸ˜”
But an Orlando 2 shall be gotten sometimeπŸ˜‰

The place was quiet without Fiji and I kept thinking I heard him meow or was watching that I didn’t step on him in his favourite places etc…πŸ˜”πŸ±

Cheese, crackers and jelly made up my dinner since Mike was eating with a friend and then It was a fun evening of thinking and rethinking over everything that was packed and what was needed and if anything was being forgottenπŸ€”

Once Mike returned, the evening was one of handing over items and suitcases being filled, a pomelo being eaten and going to bed hoping sleep would come easily.

See you home folks soon! πŸ˜‰πŸ‘‹πŸ»πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
