What Mornings Were Made For

Monday Jan 2nd –

A Monday that did not feel like a Monday at all😜

Some canned cinnamon buns were whipped out for a breakfast ish brunch and they were as tasty as ever πŸ˜‹

The guys headed into town again, Josh for items needed to build Mom something and Mike to go finally try his hand at running skidder with Dad and Nathin in the bush 😬

Alaina went over to play with Emily and the house was relatively quite, minus the little moose Brynlee of course πŸ˜‹

Rebecca was making everyone supper that night so there really wasn’t much on the schedule for us to be accomplishing.

She was making her spicy shrimp just for me an it was so good πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ€β€οΈ

That along with garlic shrimp, Caesar salad, fries and stuffed mushrooms made up our delicious supper.

I was honestly so pumped about eating it all that I didn’t feel like taking the time to set up a decent looking plate for photographing, so use the imagination folks 😜

Mom actually helped prepare the mushrooms and since she knows me so well she heated up a small amount of just crab stuffing in a separate dish all by itself, since I can’t stand mushrooms and she doesn’t at all spoil any of us πŸ˜¬πŸ„β˜ΊοΈ

With the kids around it doesn’t take much for some form of entertainment or distraction to be in play so our evening was spent all hanging out in between such moments πŸ˜‹πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ’•

It was actually brother/sister bonding night as well so when the others all left, I stayed and had a movie night with the big bro 😏
Becca was the ever gracious hostess and prepared us delicious buttery popcorn mid movie since we were to full post supper πŸ˜‹πŸΏ

Mike joined us right around the same time the popcorn did, since I’d be needing a ride back to the house.
Since he’d already seen the movie we commanded that he keep silent and reveal nothing πŸ™ŠπŸ˜ŽπŸ˜œ

Tuesday Jan 3rd –

Girls day πŸ˜πŸ’•

Mom had decided to book all us girls hair washes and massages before we came, so we were in for a day of spoiling πŸ˜πŸ’†πŸ»πŸ’•

I got the first massage while Pro got her hair washed by Germaine.

It was a good massage πŸ‘ŒπŸ»
It’s always a little interesting going for a massage with someone you’ve never had before.
You want to expect the best but your also a little concerned it won’t be as good as others you’ve had.
But that wasn’t a problem.

If you like massages and live close ish to pa, I would recommend going to Debra Lee’s Nails and getting Ashley Perlitz 😊

An hour of goodness later, I realized what mornings were made for 😏⏰

Pro and I switched places and it was my turn to get a conditioning hair wash and a braid.
It was a much better experience than any previous hair wash, which would have included about a hundred or so perm solution soaked, heavy curlers that made it feel like the straining of my neck would be permanent as well 😬

Braids look fabulous on some people, but Pro and I aren’t those people so we put toques on and decided a little chant would help… ‘It’s just PA, my hairs ok!’ 😝

We were sent on grocery errands while Mom got her massage and we had a near crash experience with the guy collecting shopping carts πŸ™ˆ
We were distracted with each other and all the cool stuff grocery stores have to distract a person with, so when we came speed walking out of the isle Pro swerved around the carts coming toward her and I followed suit, but not before a really dumb, dramatically humorous, half whispered yell escaped me.
I paused before looking at the guy in charge of said carts but when our eyes met we both couldn’t help but laugh at my stupidness πŸ˜¬πŸ˜‚

We picked Mom up and we were all ready to eat!
A morning of relaxation makes one rather hungry 😜

Asian Lee was the chosen place and it was the delicious, real, extremely flavourful Chinese food that had been filling my dreams 😍🍜
How I’ve missed such goodness ❀️

A special plate was ordered to take back home with us so Mike could get his share as well πŸ˜‰

After stuffing ourselves painfully full we still had one or two real life things to do before heading home so we set out to accomplish them.

Know that feeling when you find something in a store that you are soo pleased with that you are okay with the cost without even a seconds hesitation?

I had that feeling.

It was a splendid, thick and warm but still slim, grey colored with rose gold and fur accenting, winter coat.
It was lovely and I could picture my many warm days ahead both in Canada and in Holland.

It was too long πŸ™„πŸ˜«

The day could have been surreal-ishly perfect had that coat worked out as well as the mornings massages and the perfect lunch πŸ˜‹

I drowned my sorrows with a Starbucks Caramel BrΓ»lΓ©e  β€οΈβ˜•οΈ

Our ambition was lacking once we did make it home if you can believe it 😏

Josh had stayed at the house with the girls all day and watched them/worked on building a cupboard area in the hallway.

(He was payed in Tim Hortons CoffeeπŸ˜β˜•οΈ)

Dad and Mike returned from another day in ‘De Boosh’ (Mikes accent πŸ˜‰) ate supper and headed out with everyone else for pickle ball.

I was on Al/Bryn duty for the evening 😏

Once they returned it was time for Pro and I to swap hair curling in preparation for family photos the next day πŸ˜πŸ“·πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦

What better time to watch ‘The Emperors New Groove’ 😏
Such a stupidly hilarious show, in our opinion😝

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
