The Future Awaits/Waiting For Our Future

Monday Jan 16th –

As I sat upon the couch with my morning coffee, about to set up the laptop and work on the blog, the front door began rattling and I curiously awaited who would appear from behind it since Mike was supposed to be at work at the office, but he is also the only one with a key?

Mike came in and greeted me with a smile and I confusedly asked him why he was back, thinking there must have been heavy traffic and he just decided to work from the house, but this was not the case.

Turns out, he and his bosses had a talk and after much thought and prayer on our part, he will no longer be working with the same company he was.
It was something we were planning on, just perhaps not expecting it to all take place this soon, but we know God is in control and we are believing that this is His way of opening up some paths and helping us plan our future/job/Canada move etc. etc.

‘Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.’ Proverbs 16:3.

(But, this now means I’ll be stuck with him 24/7 until any other plans are made and for this reason I may start sounding even crazier then I usually do, just a warning 😜)

Since he was back at the house anyways, I gave him a task to complete which I knew he would be much better at then I.

Creating an art piece using the foreign money he and I have collected during our travels

He did a fantastic job and I told him he could start working for me from now on 😜

I cleaned up the apartment, did laundry, sorted out some kitchen cupboards that had been driving me crazy and so on and so forth.

Mike went out to do some errands, only to ‘lose’ his wallet after the first few.
Turns out he didn’t lose it, but forgot it at the house 😏
That’s another way to shop wisely I guess 😜

While he was away I whipped up a small batch of banana chocolate chip muffins and also prepared the cauliflower we would be eating with supper.

It was nice enough, having a seasoned yogurt dressing going over it before cooking, but the sun-dried tomato and pine nut topping that went with it is one I thoroughly liked but will be trying out with a simple pasta dish instead of the cauliflower πŸ˜πŸ˜‹

Pepper steak, bacon and toast completed supper.
Not the most interesting of suppers but cleaning out what’s in ones freezer isn’t always a guarantee for a grand turn out 😜

Mike didn’t need to work the next day, I didn’t, and we had no official plans so when coffee was wanted at 11:00 pm… coffee was had β˜•οΈ
Along with fresh muffins πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Such scandalous adults we are 😜

Tuesday Jan 17th –

Late morning took us over to Oma and Opa’s so we could drop them some second hand suits to take on their missionary trips and to borrow Opa’s cement drill.

From there we headed over to Inge’s, where we enjoyed some tomato soup and caught up on the resent happenings before heading into Doesburg to run some errands Mike hadn’t been able to the day before 😏

Inge asked us to drop some things off at the second hand store for her and luckily for me I got to look through the bags first and I got some Tupperware out of it πŸ˜‰πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Back at the apartment, Mike hung some things we hadn’t been able to since nails just bend if you even attempt to put any in our walls 😬

I went for a nap πŸ˜΄πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ’•

When I awoke Mike said he was starving, and rightfully so, since it was 7 in the evening πŸ™ˆ

We had planned on snacks for supper so he went out and got us nasi balls and fries and we ate the fried goodies along with sugar filled beverages while sitting on the couch and beginning to watch, ‘Victoria’, a movie series about as I’m sure you probably guessed, queen Victoria 😏

Since I’d slept away the day, I began cleaning the house once we were finished supper and the show.

I may be sleepy all day but come evening I itch to do things… is it because I’m living in the wrong time zone perhaps ? Or maybe I was supposed to be a nocturnal animal 😜

Either way, the house got majorly tidied and laundry folded before bedtime eventually came calling once again.

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
