Tuesday Jan 24th –
We left the apartment around 10:00 am and headed to Amsterdam to pick up some macaroons from our beloved ‘Tout Patisserie’. π
Also to pick up Zoe πβ€π©π
She arrived safely, on time and with all her luggage, so you could say it was a good start to our day π
Until literally, not even 20 minutes later when we drove to a parking lot, walked a couple of meters and her phone was lost/stolen ππ¬
We quickly backtracked and asked the nearby stores if a phone had been handed in but no luck.
It was an eventful first few moments together…perhaps not for the best reasons but still π
We took her into Amsterdam and went to ‘The Lobby’, a restaurant we had taken all of our previous guests.
Usually we went there for breakfast but it was later in the day this time, very busy and not quite as good service as previously, but it was still somewhere out of the chill and the decor as always, was on point πππ»βοΈ
We figured we’d go into Amsterdam to not only start getting the sights in right off the bat, but also to walk around in attempt to help Zoe adapt to the time change as quickly as possible π
It was very, very foggy and a little chilly but canals had to be seen, bikes avoided and culture experienced.
We grabbed some Turkish kebabs for supper before Mike chauffeured his sleeping companions back to the apartment π
Rest and recuperation began after the lengthy home tour π
Not total rest though, since Zoe had to sort out some phone issues and information π¬π
Wednesday Jan 25th –
We probably would have slept in a lot longer if we all could have, buuuut we had a photographer coming at 10:00 am to take pictures of our apartment so it could be put up for sale.
Meaning as soon as Zoe and I were ready and hydrated with morning liquids of choice, we were also kicked out π
She and I headed out to get some groceries and just try to waste away the hour or so that we weren’t allowed back in the apartment π
Turns out we went at the exact time the nearby school was having a break or something because Coop was packed with young humans, so I was even more pleased that I had Zoe with me ππβ€
The store was pursued, oddities exclaimed over with someone who finally understood what I meant, items purchased for around the house and time generally passed in comfortable camaraderie π
It’s probably a good thing we were forced out that morning because that was all we accomplished for the rest of the day ππ
I did make a pot of farmers sausage soup, thanks to the sausage Mom and Zoe worked to get me ππ΅
After that though?
It was family nap time… for multiple hoursπππ»
Soup and cheese biscuits was supper and then it was just more, sitting, amusing ourselves with our brilliance and Fiji’s antics of slight disturbance from having a guest around π
p.s. Do you humans like this layout better? Or should I stay with normal sentence alignment? π
I’m not sure yetπ€
I noticed it right away though that it had changed.
Let’s see what other have to say. π
