Happily Avoiding Life Stuff

Monday Jan 30th –

We went from being busy from 9-9 for three days, to pure relaxation and road trip recovery😜

Each of us rolling out of bed at different times and relocating to the couch or kitchen island in a matter of moments.

Mike as high energy as ever, wanted to do something 😏

Zoe and I, did not.

I know we slept during the road trip and we walked only in spurts but still!
Maybe its pathetic, but I find the effort of preparing ones self for public three mornings in a row, sorting through and repacking suitcases and eating/walking in the constant company of humans (strangers, more so than Mike and Zoe😜) is tiring 😬

I feel I can safely speak for Zoe in this matter and say she agrees with me πŸ˜‹

Mike on the other hand, does not understand… and he was the one who had driven?!

Oh well πŸ’πŸ»

Inge, Judith and the kids did stop by for a short visit late morning and Mike and I were the lucky recipients of more of the salami I’ve talked about before 😁 (Straight Up Awful… Awfully Good )

Pizza was prepared for our lunch and then Mike left to go do some errands/clean out the Audi since it soon won’t be ours any longer 😬

We contemplated going to the store but I decided nothing we needed was pressing enough to actually go out for, so we happily avoided the task 😜

Chicken, fried potatoes and carrots made up our supper and a lazy rice pudding-ish dessert followed.

I had much writing and photo sorting to catch up on, Zoe had school and Mike had apartment paperwork, so our evening passed in a fair amount of silence… until it got late and we got over tired of course 😏

Tuesday Jan 31st –

Chef Michiel was in charge of breakfast and it was a good thing for Zoe and I 😊

Sugar bread French toast, sprinkled with brown sugar and served with whipped cream on the side πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸžπŸ΄

Once that was done being enjoyed, everyone semi prepared themselves to head out to get groceries.

Mike stayed out a bit longer than us and when he returned he had flowers in hand 🌷

Ever the thoughtful hubby πŸ˜

It was a fairly quick grocery excursion all in all and back at the apartment a small snack was readied and eaten before nap time ensued 😜

Once nap time was over we drove to John and Inge’s where we had been invited for supper.
A tasty leek soup awaited us 🍡 😊
We didn’t stay too long though, as Mike had a soccer game to go play.

Evening brought the need for snacks and chill time (two things we thrive off of 😜) so ‘Storks’ was watched and chips ate and hopefully our existence gets a tad more interesting, simply for those of you who take the time to read about it 😝

In other news, Fiji finally realized how he can get closer to the fish without breaking the, ‘don’t go on the side table’ rule 😏

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
