Living With Distractions

Sunday Feb 5th –

Mike made us bacon and eggs for breakfast before we headed off to Germany for church.

Once again it was nice to have someone with, to whom I could discuss the differences of the service, big or small and know she too would see them as different and not as silly things not worth mentioning 😜

New faces were introduced and it helped in piecing together our family for Zoe’s future information and then we headed out to get lunch.

To the Greek! 😏

(Where else on a Sunday afternoon Right?!)

Mike ordered take away since we were invited to eat at our cousins house and that’s where we hung out for a little bit of the afternoon.

Once we made it back to the apartment
Zoe and I crashed… until 7 that evening 😬😝

And we mostly only got up because Mike began making noise 😜

We felt pretty drained, as per usual after extensive napping πŸ˜‹
So our evening was spent in various forms of non taxing entertainment.
Doodling for me, school/reading for Zoe… soccer watching for Mike.
Pretty much the usual 😏

Monday Feb 6th –

It’s been a task in itself to keep up with the blog now that my life includes a little more than usual/having someone(s) around who distracts me… so catching up on that was the Monday morning/early afternoon task.

By the time I was finished with that, the two ‘distractions’ had woken up and I could make more noise and get the vacuum from Zoe’s room, so the apartment was then cleaned.

And it was a good thing too, because later in the day Mike got a phone call that there was two viewing of the apartment booked for the two upcoming days.

After that, the majority of my afternoon was spent working on two, custom bible verse pieces for our Oma and Opa and Zoe was busy with school/jotting down some highlights of her trip thus far.

Mike made us all a little cheese and cracker snack in typical Mike style πŸ˜‰πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ§€

Once my energy reserves were again filled, I continued on with the writing/painting.

It was my first time creating a piece in a different language and I had to get Mikes help for the spacing, since I didn’t know what word would be strangely laid out, where, but all in all I was fairly pleased with the outcome.

We three went out for a quick little grocery trip come evening and as we shopped our hunger grew and the plan for supper changed from a real meal to the quickest I knew of at that moment.

Back at the apartment taco salad was prepared and devoured in haste πŸ₯—πŸ½

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
