Intimidation And Self Motivation

Tuesday May 2nd –

After chowing down on a delicious, egg breakfast sandwich made on a cheese bun (made by Mom of courseπŸ˜‰) I had to call the bank to reset my password (terrors 😳 talking on the phone, and in the morning?!) and then I happily settled into the non talking part of my life.
Writing the blog πŸ˜‹

After which I tried my hand at brush lettering via watercolor and paint brush.

It needed work but not badly enough for me to redo all the place tags (which will go in with the shells in the Coffee table display).
I lack patience if you haven’t picked that up by now 😜

It was a day of new things because I also got to cook my first pork roast πŸ˜‹

With instruction from Mother I seasoned, seared, cooked and made gravy for our supper, with roasted veggies as a side.

It turned out pretty well if I do say so myself😊

Not sure why, but putting the word ‘roast’ in front of meals makes them seem so much more intimidating to me ?? 😬

After supper, Mike and I worked on ‘the secret project’ 😜
Something you’ll be let in on sooner than later but for now it’s a hush-hush situation.
Any guesses what it may be about ?! Haha

Wednesday May 3rd –

Spring!!!

It was pretty much the first truly warm day we’d gotten to enjoy  (minus the one, plus 20 day the morning after we landed almost a month ago) since we arrived in Canada.

Once the morning fog lifted and a juice was made for later in the day, I meandered outside, ready to go to work if it meant I got to enjoy the weather πŸ˜‰

So, I assigned the task of cleaning patio furniture to myself and got at it, actually enjoying it too πŸ˜‹β˜€οΈ

Now, now… no need to panic, I’m sure the whole ‘me enjoying manual labor’ thing will have worn off in a day or too 😜

(The clouds made me think of how the sand ripples in the lake)

Mother prepared a lunch for us and the sister and her saplings came over to have a picnic upon the freshly placed deck furniture πŸ˜‹πŸ΄πŸΉπŸ‰

Lunch was devoured with much enjoyment, as only Moms sandwiches can be and then we headed to ‘town’.

Town being the place with a mail office and some pavement, the pavement making it good for a walk/jog with Emily riding alongside on her bike and turns being taken pushing Spencer in his stroller.

Us gasping for air… him eating cookies 😏😜

After the bike ride, Mom and I had raspberry patches to thin 😬

Though it was rewarding because the results were easily seen and then it really feels like you did something πŸ˜‰πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
