Thursday June 1st –

The first day of June πŸ’πŸ»πŸ˜
My birthday month and summer weather
πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸŒ³πŸŒΈπŸŽ‚πŸΉπŸ’•β˜€οΈ

Morning began with painting and painting carried over into the afternoon.

I was attempting a galaxy background of sorts and not loving what looked like something my almost two year old niece could have done.
My sister decided to try it too and as Mom came to encourage me and make suggestions she glanced over at the sisters art and this is what she said.
‘But like I said Jess, if you just add in some more colors and let it… oh…’.
The ‘oh’ was said as her eyes fell upon the sisters nicely blended piece.
You’d have had to hear her say it but it was dishearteningly hilarious and we all got a good laugh at it and her obvious lack of non favouritism πŸ˜πŸ˜œπŸ˜‚

Lunch was then served… flakes of ham and chips filled us up and then the sun toasted us.
+31 was the temperature and as we sat outside Alaina asked if it was summer yet.
We figured it was safe to say yes, yes it was now, summer 😏

I prepared stuff for the upcoming garage sale until supper time came around.

Gnocchi and Greek salad were eaten and I used the energy gained, to go rip out the ceiling drywall in the living room at our house, while Mom and Pro walked with the sick baby in town.

I was filthy.
I had no idea so much dirt and grime and who knows what else, could be layered in a ceiling😬
I went thinking I could rip a bit of stuff out and vacuum and maybe just rinse afterwords but, no.
Mom didn’t even want me in the truck for the two minute drive home and I had to shampoo twice to remove all the grime 😬
Too much info? Maybe 😏

Friday June 2nd –

The day began with French toast and that is always a good way to begin a day πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

It then went straight to garage sale prep 😬

I with my cement creations and Mom searching through the basement, packing and asking us girls if we wanted items as she did so.
My house now won’t be as empty as it would have been 😜

Moms friend was coming over so I prepared a juice, using Pro’s (big sisters nick name) suggestion of making some sweet green tea to add to it, to stretch the juice further.

As you probably know, I’m not into the whole juicing for health…but purely for taste 😜
Had the tea not been steeped too long it would have been a good idea but it was a tad bitter.
Good ideas for the next test though πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Mom made us little rice wrap thingies that I had never seen/eaten before and though odd, they were very tasty! 😁

Filled with carrots, cucumbers, crab and sauces, they made tasty little flavour filled bites 😊

Supper was a special occasion (though technically aren’t all suppers? πŸ˜‰πŸ˜œ) as lobster was on the menu!
I like crab more, personally, but the lobster had been flown in fresh from Nova Scotia and after it was prepared with butter and lemon it went down rather smoothly πŸ˜‰πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Becca had prepared a delicious berry crisp to satisfy our sweet tooth’s and satisfy it did!

It was an average family evening spent with this and that, between the rearing of four kids 😏

Average until Dad heard the robins squawking, went out to see why and found a fledgling in the dogs mouth.

As he saved it and placed it back in the nest, the rest of the siblings decided to fledge too, so there stood Dad amidst a flock of robins, some mad, some freaked out… some pooping on him 😜

One little one took off, awkwardly hopping through the grass, directly towards the bro on the lawn mower!

He quickly turned off the mower, pushed the safety cover over the blades and hit the breaks, his quick actions pretty much saving the life of the dumb little thing… he’s a hero 😏

Back at home it was a late night for me as the brain waves for the sale don’t ever hit when they should and I had ideas to create and fulfill before the next morning πŸ˜‰

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
