Well, since I wrote about my Mother I couldn’t very well leave out my Father now could I? 😉
Happy Father’s Day daddy 😘💕
Now, though the mother usually does lots of the literal raising, the father still shows a strong example and adult figure that shapes who we turn out to be.
My father has led a life that showed and still shows me, strength, dedication, kindness, hard work, patience, forgiveness and knowledge about a great number of things 😉😋
(Though more than half of that said knowledge may be made up for entertainments sake and I’ll never know until the moment comes to test it whether or not its truthful information 😏)
When I think of the amount of work he has done, his whole life (practically 😉) to not only supply for us but to allow us many novelties we didn’t need, it awes me and I can’t really imagine doing that much, everyday, for somebody else without complaint, yet he has.
Because of him I can *almost keep a straight face in the midst of a practical joke or jest.
*unless it’s with him or my brother 😬
I like to think I got a tad bit of humour from him but I guess humour is to each their own a little bit and maybe I just come off as pitiful to most😜
There are bad things I’ve got from him as well, holding things inside maybe a little too tightly…
(No, really, I don’t have one 😜 but I do have the same hazel eyes 👨🏻)
More and more I do believe I got his story telling style 😏
(One Michiel can’t stand and I can’t help 😜)
You have to give us time to tell our tales, we need to work up to the main point, slowly warming to the story and using a lot of filler words like ‘and/the/it/they/and 😋’ before it gets rolling.
Give us time, we’ll get there eventually… with only the slightest amount of pointless details thrown in 😉
I may not be strong the way he is but he has still shown strength to me in many ways…
Dealing with chronic pain acceptingly and going on no matter what.
Though he can say what he thinks, he’s also taught me the strength of keeping quiet and not letting something get to you that technically doesn’t matter.
I’ve learnt that one can have what one wants and even more, but also saving when and where you can is a handy thing to do 😎
He has helped me be brave but also understood when I needed to stand back and observe, knowing my boundaries and always knowing when I needed a talk, even if I couldn’t get the words out 😉💕
He has shown me the love of a father.
The support, the care, the constant effort to make ME happy.
As we are supposed to see God as our Heavenly Father, it would do us good to think of an earthly father and his characteristics when caring for our lives and how much greater Gods intentions are for us.
Deuteronomy 1:31 NIV
31 There you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.”
13 As a father has compassion on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;
And lastly … the one verse I think Dad did NOT exactly follow (pay attention to colored words) 😏😉
4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
He exasperated us, a lot…
infuriate, incense, anger, annoy, irritate, madden, enrage, antagonize, provoke, irk, vex, get on someone’s nerves, ruffle someone’s feathers, rub the wrong way, rile, bug, needle, get someone’s back up, get someone’s goat
infuriating, annoying, irritating, maddening, provoking, irksome, vexatious, trying,
Anyways, all this was to say Happy Father’s Day to the dads out there but especially to mine.
The. Best. Dad. Ever. 😉
Hope everyone has a safe and happy day celebrating dads and all they mean to us! 💕
