Monday June 19th –
Hubby didn’t think he was needed at work and then he was, so he left late morning and I went out to mow lawns while the sun actually peered out for a change.
Though chilly when the clouds passed by, they were pretty, big, fluffy ones and with the blue sky, sunshine and green grass, it made for a pretty scene.
I had to leave part of one lawn uncut in attempt to keep the production rate high in a wild strawberry patch that’s spread out the last couple of years.
Not much in the fruit family tastes as good as those minuscule, fresh, wild strawberries in my opinion ❤️
Lawns were finished up, lunch eaten and then Mother and I went to town for a 5.5 km walk/jog.
(Keeping a wary eye out for the bear supposedly spotted in town.)
It was then time for me to put the first coat of color on the vanity.
I’m loving the color so far 👌🏻
Espresso was needed to replenish the energy we had depleted during our bout of movement ☕️
French onion soup was on the menu for supper and though father and I don’t like onions… we will eat that 🙈
Crazy, I know.
I tend to think the whole, ‘layers of bread and gooey loads of broiled cheese’ may help the matter 😉
Mike and I went outside, thinking we would toss the baseball or play badminton but our lack of ambition was greatly affecting our skills.
Then the somersault Mike attempted when trying to reach the badminton birdie, with his lanky body un gracefully completing a somewhat circle, was more than our over tired brains could handle and we both collapsed to the ground laughing too hard to stand 😜
Mike played travel agent for Mom for the rest of the evening, helping her try to plan a winter get away and then getting the travel bug himself… like he doesn’t already check tickets to who knows where, every other night 😏
(If anyone else is needing a travel agent, look no further 😉👌🏻🌅✈️)
Tuesday June 20th –
Into town bright and early for errands and the like with Mom and Michiel.
We dropped off Mom where she needed to be and then we went to check out bathroom sinks and doors.
We found a door for our pantry at the Habitat Store.
Not the door we really needed at this moment but the one that was found anyways.
I love the knob on it 😁👌🏻
I met with some cleaning clients to discuss schedules and then back for Mother we went.
‘Mucho Burrito’ was the lunch place of choice and the little bit of hot sauce Mike had put on our tacos was for sure hot enough 😬
They were good though and fresher tasting then most other restaurants and the ombré pink drink from Starbucks helped wash away the hot 😉👌🏻💕
Town days aren’t good for me and I know even more, now, why I stay home 😜
I found a new wallet, glasses for the kitchen, espresso cups (like the coffee cups I always loved at Oma and Opa’s 😉) and Mom got me a super awesome notebook 😁💕
It was a good town day all things considered, getting much accomplished and feeling like it hadn’t been a total waste of time.
After groceries and everything else was unpacked back at home, Mom and I headed to town for a walk and Mike went to work at the house.
Post walk we joined him there, getting another coat of paint on the vanity and then Mom left to make supper and I stayed to help get more drywall on the bathroom walls.
Supper was steak and potatoes, the real mans meal 😎😜
The parents were soon departing to the lake so we went over to the Bro’s to retrieve the boat and visit with them and the kiddo’s for a while.
Having our day come to a close with family and some really intense happy screeches of the child variety 😜
Mike had went back to the house to finish drywalling the bathroom but just as he returned from there, he had to head back.
Our wish to sell our wishing well, had come true and the interested party was willing to come in a few minutes to pick it up… may it bring them many happy wishes 😜👌🏻
