Jem Moment – Big Drinks, Big Island

So, as we happily sat in the cool Starbucks, sipping our free, large and extra-large drinks, the hubster looked at tickets to Hawaii.

Ya know, just the usual Starbucks goings on πŸ’πŸ»πŸ˜‹

If you haven’t figured it out by now, we aren’t so good at NOT traveling 😬

(I say we, but we all know I really mean Mike, not that I’m complaining 😜)

So, when the opportunity came, to go to Hawaii come November, it was pretty much a ‘yes’ and ‘decision made’ before we could even really think or talk about it πŸ˜‚

Our insides knew exactly what was going to happen and that we had no will power to say no to that kind of trip, especially since I have loved Hawaii both times I’ve been previously and wanted Mike to experience something I had and he hadn’t, for once 😏

Mike got out his pros and cons about going and then told me to do my thing and say all the smart, responsible reasons I usually come up with on why we should maybe skip a trip or certain thing he wants to do but I told him my heart didn’t want to give any reasons on why we should NOT go to Hawaii.

Even though my brain was trying it’s hardest to yell out many points against such a decision πŸ™‰

Tickets were then looked at, found and attempted to be booked but the card wouldn’t work for some reason 😬
(No, not the ‘low on funds’ kind of reasonπŸ˜‹)
So we kind of disappointedly wondered what to do and then let it gently slide out of our thoughts.

Momentarily.

Then we had another card to try so Mike told me to punch in the info while he drove.
I did and then asked if he was really sure about this thing, before hitting confirm and then just like that… we are going to Hawaii πŸ˜‚πŸ™ˆπŸŒΊπŸŒŠπŸŒ΄

It said ‘accepted’ and that the confirmation email would be sent and Mike and I kind of just looked at each other like, ‘oops, I guess that just happened’ πŸ˜¬πŸ˜‚

So yeah, we have a winter vacation booked before our summer has really even begun and I can already almost smell the salt water and feel the warm ocean breezes 😍

Also, our Starbucks were free because their app wasn’t working sooo they just gave me the special offer without me actually having to purchase anything πŸ’πŸ»

So that was the extra icing on the cake… or perhaps I should say, sand on the beach?

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
