Procrastination, Renovation And Caffeination

Wednesday July 19th –

A fair chunk of the morning was taken up with tidying odds and ends in preparation for the parents return later in the day.
Lawns also needing mowing, a chore that had been delayed greatly by the lack of rain and presence of sun… making for dead grass, not in need of cutting 😏

The mower then ran out of gas, mid lawn, so I washed up and resigned myself to the couch, where much time was spent writing.

I had wanted and also not wanted, to write what turned into  ~ 07. 20. 14 ~ .
So instead of sitting down and doing it when I wasn’t in a rush, so that it would be easily ready for the right date, I prolonged the decision and then had hours of typing, thinking, retyping, adding, taking away and proof reading ahead of me 😬

Generally a post doesn’t take THAT long, but the pressure to get that one as ‘right’ as I could, was felt greatly, especially since my posts are usually just glib, day to day posts, like this one 😜

The parents eventually arrived back and tales immediately began being told.
(Mostly by me, Mom seems to think 😜)
She and I walked to the bro’s house to join everyone else to eat pizza and catch up 🍕

I got my first real grin and coo out of the littlest niece AND cheesy garlic bread sticks… so it was a good evening 💁🏻😋

Thursday July 20th –

A cleaning day a little different than most.
This time, Mike came along with me and he was on window washer duty 👷🏼✨💦

He washed all of the outside windows, while I cleaned inside and four hours later we were able to call it a day.

Cleaning wise at least.

In town, we submitted the last of the house papers, bought a front door and more drywall mud, got a Starbucks and then went to get the oil changed.
Which was a lengthy task and meant we got to wander around Canadian tire while waiting for it to be done.
A wander that had we NOT taken, we would have saved a bunch of money 🙈

Why? Because the ‘Ninja Coffee Bar’ was on sale and that caught our eye… and from there it got into our brains and they wrapped around the idea of having all of its amazing features, all the time… and then it became ours 💁🏻☕️

I told Mike it could be our mutual, early, 2 year anniversary gift… for October 😜

Whatever… it felt better to call it an early, semi important gift, rather than just a glittery thing that caught our eye 😎

Mike and I went to our place to work for a little while since there was still a little too much day left to just sit around and so my task was sanding bedroom walls 😬

By the time it was done, it looked like it was snowing, both in the room and upon me 😜

Leaving me with no choice but to impersonate the scientist off of Horton Hears A Who and loudly proclaim ‘Mshister Mayor, itsh shnowing, in the shummer!!’… watch the clip if you don’t get this 😜

The dust gave me a pre look into what life with grey hair would be like and skin the color of someone who hadn’t exited a house in a couple of years.
My future doesn’t look all that appealing 😂

Mike was getting the main level ever closer to the painting stage 👌🏻

After the bro came and helped us solve an electrical issue, which could have been massive but thankfully was not, we went home for a fresh fish supper prepared by Mother 😊

Herb and garlic fish, breaded and grilled, roasted and seasoned tomatoes, cooked sweet potato and creamy cucumber salad awaited us.

It was all delicious and readily devoured 😁

Mike than excitedly unpacked the ‘Ninja’.
Taking off stickers, rinsing pieces and glancing through the instructions before setting it all up to have a brew ready and waiting for the next morning 😋☕️
(Rinse and read, both suggested by yours truly😏)

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
