Saturday July 29th –
The sister cooked, I painted and wrote, Mother child reared 😜
The enchiladas Pro had whipped up, were on the menu for a late lunch, so Mike returned from working on our house to join us in eating our ‘once a year’ Mexican meal, always prepared by Pro 😋
I made everyone mojitos and we ate out on the deck, enjoying the weather and the fare 😁
We planned on no supper, due to the late lunch and prepared snacks to have while watching a movie that Alaina could enjoy with us/or more so us watch with her, to appease her, as musicals aren’t the all time fave in our household 😋
Alas, when we went to play it, it hadn’t actually downloaded, so the whole evening plan was undone 😏🙄
Sunday July 30th –
The husband, sister and I were in the car alone, as Grams and Al had an afternoon date day 😉
So on the drive back into town from church, we three got talked over what we had heard preached that morning about ‘criticism’.
I especially liked this quote that was read, ‘We judge ourselves by our intentions and others by their actions’.
How easy it is to judge or criticize someone, maybe even not out loud but in our hearts, without truly realizing how it could affect them, and us.
Why do we always take the attitude of displeasure or disgust and never stop to think what may be happening in that persons, personal life or consider how much grace God has given us. Should we then not return the gesture to others?
Anyways… those were the deep thoughts, pre Pizza Hut cheese bread sticks with marinara sauce and then I must admit, all other thoughts were rather forgotten as the deliciousness was devoured 😎👌🏻
Home we eventually got back to and there we puttered around until Grams and Al got back from their date and had much goodness to show us 😋
The evening cooled off and dark clouds rolled in, hinting of rain and though I can’t say I’m a lover of running or jogging, I do prefer to do it in that kind of weather.
So when the sister asked if we wanted to go for a little prance through the back field, Mom and I agreed and Mike got to spend some quality time with the nieces 😋
Pro later told me that Mike had looked at her and said ‘Sure, Jess never runs, but of course it’s now she decides to go for a one when it’s lightening out.’ 😂
As we jogged, the vivid orangey pink sun was setting above the little slough and I commented that Saskatchewan truly can be beautiful and Pro was in agreement… as the words left my mouth though, the stench of the slough filled our noses and we were nearly knocked off course by the reek of it 😂
Next loop around, the clouds then looked lovely, the field serene and it was Pro’s turn to comment on the beauty and yet again the beauty was marred as a swarm of mosquitoes pelted against our faces and some into our throats 😂
It seemed as though nature wasn’t feeling the love 😜
Timelaps video by Michiel 😊
It was a good jog though, as far as jogs go and I filled my depleted energy reserves with a plate of french toast casserole, leftover from that mornings delicious breakfast 😎
