Unfortunate Witnesses And Deep Contemplation

Friday Aug 4th –

The Mom and Sister had been painting up some color charts and the layout of little, brightly painted squares looked appealing so I joined in 😏🎨

(Mom may or may not have drawn out both the sister and I’s graphs πŸ™ˆ)

After that, company was due to arrive so table was set and lunch prepared.
Well, Mom had already prepared it all so it was heated and laid out, hot, summer borscht soup and fresh, seed filled bread πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Mike joined us, as he’d been working at the house and he arrived moments after a can of pop had burst in the hallway closet 😏
Pop upon the ceiling, walls, drawers and contents of said drawers 😬

I got out of cleaning that, by going and cleaning a freshly plucked plant that the babies had decided, needed a pot no longer 😜

A soupy spoon then fell on the floor and I think one other mishap too… so it was a hectic first few moments of having humans other than ourselves around 😬

Lucky for us, they were of the relaxed breed, ones who a few minor issues didn’t rouse and we didn’t mind that they were the unfortunate witnesses πŸ˜œπŸ˜‚

The visit simmered down and was enjoyed.

The lunch itself was delicious and the carrot cake cheese cake dessert too, so that’s what matters, yes? 😁

The evening brought flatbread with multiple types of cheese, oil and basil, heated to melty perfection and enjoyed with the tomatillo salsa the sister had purchased at the farmers market😁

Saturday Aug 5th –

Mike had arisen early to go out for a golf sesh with the bro and while he was gone I searched for house items, whilst sipping my caffeine.

You can find out how successful that was by reading ➑️ Jem Moment: Pinterest Dream Becomes Reality
if you haven’t already ☺️

We ordered Chinese food to take home for everybody and the smell of it during the drive home, helped cover up the faint odour coming from the couch cushions 😬

The rest of our day was then spent with me contemplating if I should, or shouldn’t attempt painting the couch and if I didn’t, would I be happy with that shade if I still wanted to blend my other color schemes?

The answer was not really… I love the couch, the color is also pretty, just hard to mix with the teals, mints, corals and the other shades I desire to have elsewhere throughout my house and I don’t want to have to ask the question of  ‘will it match the couch?’, with every piece I buy 😬

Then it was time to try convincing the husband that it was a possible AND good idea to paint the couch 😜
Surprisingly, he gave in… post-haste?!
Could he truly be learning so quickly? πŸ™ˆ

(So, since then I’ve read more and heard back from multiple people that painting fabric has been done and with success, so I’m going to try to be brave and wait for the fabric sealer/primer from the USA to arrive and then test out the method of painting fabric, on the side chair it came with.)

The Chinese food we had brought back, made up our supper and it was delicious πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
