Beauty In Many Forms

Thursday Aug 24th –

While I went to work, so did the hubster.

He got the flooring laid down in the bathroom and the vanity back in and I love it! πŸ˜„

Besides that, he also worked on building the base for the kitchen cupboards, with our ever helpful neighbour πŸ›

By the time I was back from cleaning, it was already later in the afternoon, so after putting our room back to rights (as it had been claimed by the aunt and uncle for their short stayπŸ˜‰) and tidying up, it was nearly supper time.

But supper was being brought back with mother, who had joined the aunt and uncle on their shopping day in the city.

A deliciously seasoned, Costco chicken filled our plates alongside steamed broc and leftover pasta.

The portion thing with this whole ’21 (14) day fix’, isn’t that hard but what is, is so little bread and zero sweets 😩

Bread is beautiful, therefore if I gain weight from an over indulgence of bread, can I be beautiful too?πŸ˜‚

Evening brought with it a massive desire for stroopwafels and instead I looked up ‘healthy dessert’ recipes to try the next day.

(Those two words really don’t belong togetherπŸ™„)

Friday Aug 25th –

Get up, drink coffee, ignore the growling stomach because never before have I wanted breakfast, so why would I want it now?!

Workout with the mother.

Dislike the work out.

Recover by making some macadamia chocolate bites that are supposed to be healthy and sweet 😜

They actually were really sweet and not even really bad for you because they use natural sweeteners like peanut butter and maple syrup but unfortunately the recipe can’t be duplicated without the shakeology protein mix 😬
(They were made with oats, chia, maple syrup, macadamia nuts, peanut butter, and chocolate flavoured protein just so you get the idea πŸ˜‰)

I then had cement piece orders to start making, so I retreated to the garage to work on those, while Mom made up some ground turkey chili 😏😜

We had it for lunch and it was good, for being healthy πŸ˜‰
No, it was good in general but just missing pork and bean mix, ketchup and cheese and tortilla chips and good things like that 😜

I was sick of the ugly, lime green, plastic hanging thing that my Spanish moss had come on and I had a brain wave of how to fix the problem.

I got the items required and within 20 min it went from this.

To this πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ’•

I tried shaping it into a circle at first but it kind of looked like a sad dream catcher so a bend here and a bend there and poof!

A triangular wall hanging ☺️

Mom made us omelettes for supper and then Mike and I had to go into town to make use of the 20% off at Rona.

Counter top, trim, spray paint and door handles were purchased and though it is lovely to be at those parts of the house reno’s, it was a lot of expenses to accumulate at once, rather than the less painful, one or two items at a time 😜

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
