Savouring The Blessings

Wednesday Oct 25th –

Painting out an idea I had the evening before was how my morning began 😊

Then I packed up more of the boxes, art, furniture etc. and Mother and I headed to my place to work on some more trim and finishing bits until later that afternoon.

As I packed up a trunk, Rolo decided she would like to be in on the moving process 😜

While we worked… the first snowfall began to lightly cover the ground 😐❄️

My friend came over that evening since our schedules finally aligned and since she arrived later in the day, we said we would have to stay up late to make up for it.

Come 9:00 pm, the yawns we’re hitting fast and hard and our conversation began to lull 😂

So, to counteract our age, we did some stretches and a little bitty, yet very awful, ab workout… and then went and got ice cream and popcorn for our newly awakened selves to snack on 😜

Life is all about balance right ? 💁🏻

With our strength and appetite replenished, we managed to stay up until 2:00 am 😉

Thursday Oct 26th –

After what was one of the best sleeps I can remember having lately, we got up and began our day at a decent time, for we had exciting things awaiting us 😎

First though, I made us yoghurt soufflé with strawberries for breakfast… which could also be considered pretty exciting I suppose 😉

I don’t make them often, because I hate reading the recipe the way it’s typed out, making the somewhat more involved recipe, seem even more daunting first thing in the morning 😏

But, after tasting it again for the first time in like, three years, I plan to re-write (and share) the recipe, very soon 🤓💗

After downing our light little ‘soufflés’, we headed to my place to begin the awaited occasion of unpacking wedding shower boxes! 😄🙌🏻🛍

The drive there was a pretty one with the freshly fallen snow and I snapped this picture before quickly going inside.

I know… I don’t usually try to be so optimistic but the sun was shining and yes even though it snowed, for the moment I was thankful to be spending the day with a friend, in my new home, opening gifts people had purchased just for us and I wanted to savour the blessings 😉

Mother joined us and boxes were brought up from the basement, cleaned off and sorted through with much excitement and many a pleasing ‘re-discovery’.

My bathroom is now fully stocked with towels in the right color family without even having to go to a store and my kitchen cupboards are no longer empty but if anything, too full!

Super soft blankets, art, candles that made our noises do happy dances, cleaning supplies and more, were all unpacked with delight 😁💕🎉

We decided where some pictures should be hung once Mike and his loftiness was around and then retreated back to Mothers, where we exercised once again before she had to leave.

This time longer and more seriously than the previous nights ‘stretches’ 😋

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
