Post Vacation Splurging

Friday Nov 24th –

The blur of what day blended into which, while traveling,ย had begun.
We actually slept for most of the longest flight, which came as a surprise to me, never having had that happen before ๐Ÿ˜ณ
It was the sleep of the sore but sleep none the less and after a couple of cat naps in Vancouver and Calgary during our two little layovers, I wasnโ€™t feeling so bad come the arrival in Saskatoon.

We were happy about the Calgary layover, as it meant weโ€™d get Chick-fil-A ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

Mom had appointments in the city that coerced with our landing time, so we took a taxi to the mall to pass time, checking out some of the Black Friday deals, now becoming more and more available in Canada.
Things were seen but not bought, as the shopping mood was distant and the desire to be done, most present ๐Ÿ˜œ

Starbucks ebbed into our bloodstream and the mother picked us up and we headed home ๐Ÿ˜Š

Saturday Nov 25th –

After a long sleep, we moseyed upstairs just before noon ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

Mike decided to go into town to pick up the snow blower heโ€™d ordered and to buy a light for our bedroom from Canadian Tire.

Iโ€™d decided to wait for a sale and am even more glad now that I did, as we got it for half price! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

He also bought a deep fryer and a vacuum cleaner… I don’t recall having a deep fryer on the list ๐Ÿ˜

A Hawaiian inspired purchase was made that day as well but by me this time… a ukulele ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Prices IN Hawaii had been more than we wanted to pay but the desire to own and attempt to make music with one, was stronger than I had anticipated, thus the ordering of one took place ๐Ÿ˜‰

I spent most of the day getting unpacking taken care of and writing caught up on.
While working on the photo editingย for the blog, I opened my phone’s photo albums to find that they said they were empty and that I had no photos ๐Ÿ˜ณ
I opened and closed the app,ย hoping I was wrong in what Iโ€™d read but no, still no photos…I was getting real distressed real fast ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
After closing and opening theย app again and still having no pictures, I took a moment to pray, after which I opened the photo albums and it said it was restoring all of my pictures and videos ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป
He cares about the little thingsย ๐Ÿ’•

Mom had made pork roast, roasted veggies and potatoes and a delicious gravy for supper and let me tell ya, it was good ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป
After so many disappointing Hawaii meals and fast food stops nearing the end of vacation, it tasted so refreshing to have a homemade meal ๐Ÿฝ

Hello humans ๐Ÿ˜Š This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life ๐Ÿ˜Š
