Freeloaders Afoot

Tuesday Dec 12th –

Mom came over that morning to enjoy my company 😊

No, she actually just wanted the wifi 😏😜

She had things to accomplish online and as stupid as it is, the two minutes that she lives away from us, means she can’t get much cell/internet service at their place πŸ™„

Not that I minded her coming over πŸ˜‰

We hung out for the morning, each working on our own things until I served us tomato soup in storage containers, as I found out we have no soup bowls 😜
Post our refined lunch (πŸ˜‰), we went out for a walk as it was a lovely day outside πŸ˜β›…οΈ

Before heading off though, we detoured a few steps over to the post office, so I could put up a sign advertising the pies I’ve been baking ☺️So, if you’re driving by MacDowall, you know where to get an easy, homemade dessert to satisfy your or someone else’s, sweet tooth πŸ˜‰πŸ˜œ

We walked around 5 km and then went back to indoor tasks, before leaving for Moms house where we’d have supper.
Their menu plan was steaks and I thought Mike would appreciate that more than whatever I concocted from our mostly empty fridge😜

Atlas and I did a grocery run that night before bed 😏

Wednesday Dec 13th –

My morning entertainment has been via the same culprits, whom constantly find new ways of bringing a smile to my normally not smiling, morning face πŸ˜‰

I suggest you stop reading my writings now, if you’re not into kittens 😏

I began compiling photos to create into a photo album of the houses transformation, start to finish and as usual, those things take longer than expected 😬

Salisbury steak, veggies and potatoes were for supper and because of some minor miscommunications, Mom thought they were eating with us and I didn’t, so the portions were slightly smaller per person than expected but none of us lacked for it 😏😜

The more I cook, the more I realize what I do not have… measuring cups for one πŸ’πŸ»β€β™€οΈ
More than one frying pan for another.

Ah well… I have this feeling I’ll have an ongoing list, for an ongoing amount of time 😏

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
