Modren Technology Takes Its Toll

Friday Dec 22nd –

Mother took me into town so I could take care of the cleaning job and then Hubster picked me up so we could go get new phones.

A task that we did not expect to take 4.5 hours
πŸ˜³πŸ™„πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

We went to Best Buy so that we could swap our phone contracts over Β from Sasktel, to Bell.
When you do that, you get store credits, money off etc. etcΒ so it sounded like a good plan and it WAS a good plan, it just took way longer then it should have.
So long in fact that we were told to leave and return the next day 😳
It may have been the fault of the employees to a point but it was also computer systems, near Christmas etc. and at least they were very friendly.
One even buying us coffees somewhere in the third hour 😏

We left, (me without a phone because we had traded it in already) picked up pizza and headed home, more than ready to be there 😬

Saturday Dec 23rd –

Mike went to the bush to work for a while that morning and then back into town we went to try to fix the phone problem.

Two or so hours later we left with one new phone, that was semi working… 😬
At least that employee figured out the problem and then it was just a matter of only one switch over request being able to go through at a time.

Some last minute gifts were purchased and it just so happened that some guys from church were going to meet up to play soccer that evening, so Mike joined them while I worked on setting up the new device.

Mike made us hot chocolate when we got back and then it was off to bed.

Crazy how mentally draining waiting for a stupid cell phone and going to town can be… πŸ™„

At least the phone is pretty and you’ll see my photos improve dramatically… I hope 😜

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊

  1. A new phone, how exciting!! Waiting on it for two days, not so much😬🀨 I’m looking forward to seeing the new photos you get with it though. Do you use an editing program for any of the pictures you post? Just curious…
