We Came, We Saw, We Left Frozen

Thursday Jan 11th

(Winnipeg trip day #2 recap)

Ikea.

The place that overwhelms and gives a person far too many ideas to process at one time ๐Ÿ˜‰

That was our main stop of the day, knowing all would take a while to get through the oversized store of mainly undersized home pieces;)

We lunched there too and I couldnโ€™t have been happier with my meatballs, veggies and gravy for FOUR DOLLARS ๐Ÿ˜ณ ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

I loved this idea of adding some simple details that majorly class up the look of a white wall.

Especially because right now, Iโ€™m torn between leaving my clean white walls, clean and white, or adding the pop of color my insides crave ๐Ÿ˜‰

We left there, popped in and out of a few more stores, shivering profusely with every step to and fro ๐Ÿ˜œ

I ended up finding nothing ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Well, unless bag clips and ziplock bags at Ikea count but I feel like those just skip the โ€˜weekend purchasesโ€™ list and go right onto โ€˜living necessitiesโ€™.
Which are generally little, to no fun ๐Ÿ˜œ

We returned to our place to bulk up the clothing.
Adding layer upon layer in hopes of fighting the cold we would be facing when went to check out the ice castles.
Really though, how can a human fight -30 temperatures ? ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ’๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜œ

We went, we saw, we left frozen ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿงคโ„๏ธ

It was cold.
Like, I mean SO COLD… and itโ€™s not a temperature you can really โ€˜dress forโ€™ because any uncovered skin, gets almost immediately numbed by the wind ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜œ

We ordered in Chinese food for dinner, wanting only comfort and warmth ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿด

Hello humans ๐Ÿ˜Š This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life ๐Ÿ˜Š
