Piqued Interests And Peaked People

Sunday, Jan 15th

(Winnipeg day #5 recap)

Breakfast was once again a macaroon and coffee.
A fare I could easily adjust to, daily πŸ’πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

We parted ways with two of the aunts that morning and our other aunt toured us around until we had to be at the airport later that afternoon.

We went to The Forks and sat down for lunch, beginning with some truffle oil and parmesan fries that came with a basil dip and a garlic aioli dip.

I’d had similar dish while in South Africa and this was the first time I’d seen it listed on a menu anywhere else ☺️

Mom and I shared a peach, orange and chicken stir fry dish and it was alright but we’d had much better throughout the trip πŸ˜‰πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

We wandered around the stores, and walked over to another building to do the same there.
Tired of shopping but also having too much time to just spend at the airport.

We wasted a good chunk of time in a basement store, jam-packed with antique/second hand/vintage things πŸ›πŸ›‹πŸ›πŸ–ΌπŸ“Ώ

If I’d lived there, these would have came home with me.

They were the perfect color and in such good condition!! πŸ˜³πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

This food server was also on point

but heavy and unnecessary, as I don’t eat in bed 😜

This dresser of old postcards, letters and photos could have kept me occupied for a long, long time.

There were so many, from all over the world and all the different handwritings, pictures and textures lure me in πŸ˜‰

This refusal of 5 million dollars especially piqued my interest 😏

Finally we decided we had looked through all there was to be seen and we left the basement to go get coffee and sit awhile pre-flight.

We were going to check out a small coffee shop but we went in and all the seating was taken sooo we went across the street and gave Starbucks some more business 😏

We said our goodbyes and flew back home, landing around 7:00 pm.
Calling the girls extended weekend in Winnipeg officially over and successful in the form of hanging out… not so much in the form of shopping (for me anyways) but oh well πŸ˜‰

I was struck with a cold, so the resting and recuperating time was more than welcome and I spent the night at the parents place, as that’s where the kittens and sister and nieces etc. all were too πŸ˜πŸ’•

And so ends the retelling of the Winnipeg explorations!

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
