Mall-Nourished

April 13th –

We arose and readied ourselves to leave with one our personal driver/tour guide/shopping companions, to meet the other, for breakfast ๐Ÿ˜‰

Eating at Lacoco C Food Purveyorsย was a very enjoyable experience ๐Ÿ˜
The restaurants and food that we held in memory, were indeed the same as we recalled and thatโ€™s pretty impressive because I feel like usually people either build up, or tear down in their recollections ๐Ÿคช

The decor and overall ambiance was so enjoyable and the eye could wander they entire time, catching some new detail or feature that begged for further attention ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’•

I ordered French toast, Mike got an egg and bacon breakfast sandwich and I also got my first juice of grapefruit, pineapple and mint ๐Ÿคค๐Ÿด๐Ÿ

The French toast though sweet, was nothing like the sugary, syrup topped ones Iโ€™ve grown up with.
It was served with cream cheese rather than whipped cream and fresh berries lent their sweetness… so overall the flavour wasnโ€™t at all lacking but the gross overly full feeling that isnโ€™t that rare to experiance at home, was.
Another detail we recalled from our previous trip.

On our drive towards the mall, we stopped to see the home to be of our friend and were charmed there also… the turquoise roofs and white siding giving the entire complex a beachy vibe and the inside layout and loft, filling our imaginations with possibility (as it is currently in reno stages ๐Ÿ˜‰) ๐Ÿ˜„

Then to the mall.
I say ‘mall’ loosely as it was more like a mini city ๐Ÿ˜‚
We got there at 11:00 am and we left near 7:00 pm, though that wasnโ€™t the plan ๐Ÿ˜…
We thought it would be a late morning/early afternoon kind of trip…but I suppose trying on around 20 skirts, a few dresses and multiple tops, in between the looking, will take up some time ๐Ÿคช
I canโ€™t remember the last time I have shopped THAT long and also THAT successfully… though it was a tad sad that we missed an entire day of sun ๐Ÿ™ˆ
As I only wear skirts, finding a nice denim skirt has become more and more rare back home and shipping from the states is usually costly.
Walking into a store and seeing denim skirts on almost every display, was a little overwhelming ๐Ÿคญ

We paused for substance a few times…. coffee the once and Greek the next.
Both proving enjoyable and giving us the strength needed to continue ๐Ÿคช

It was pretty great shopping with those who have similar taste and readily sought out other sizes and styles for me…so I had two personal shoppers AND a bag boy…aka Mike ๐Ÿ˜‰

He truly did fantastic… trucking along behind us girls the entire day, not uttering one complaint and assisting in choosing the pieces picked and carting around all of the purchases ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ›

I got to show off the goodies Iโ€™d found back at the house and then we enjoyed another dinner in.
Amongst the rest of the meal,ย green beans were heated with feta, a combination Iโ€™d never had before but very much enjoyed ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

April 14th –

We awoke to find an envelope slid under our door.
What it held was a birthday card for my hubby ๐Ÿ˜‰

Heโ€™d hoped his day would go by unnoticed but it wasnโ€™t so ๐Ÿคช

A church service was attended and it was actually a preacher from Germany that weโ€™d heard before, speaking there.
After the service we waited for Michiel to get in all his hello’sย to the faces that by this, his fourth trip, are more than familiar to him ๐Ÿ˜

A tasty lunch was prepared and enjoyed with our hosts and their family…
They served a canned cream corn, exactly like we have at home, but cold.
I told them Iโ€™d never eaten it cold before and they in return had never tried it heated, I can now attest that either way works ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

They had also sneakily prepared a chocolate cake for Michiel and brought it out, candles atop and singing that birthday ballad ๐Ÿ˜‰

We visited away the afternoon and I also attempted to sit in the sun awhile before us โ€˜kidsโ€™ headed out for some coffee and a bite to eat.

I tried a bubblegum flavoured milkshake which I was told is actually rather common in in South Africa and then we all shared some appetizers.

Nachos, chicken strips and haloumi… which is a baked cheese โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป
