The Pain Of Blessings

The Pain Of Blessings

How annoying it is, to open the fridge and have to make a meal.
To prepare it all.
Give the dinner call and then still have to wash and dry.

Picking paint can be such a bore.
Should it be darker, just a little more?
Pick your color, buy the supplies.
Do the job and rub your eyes.
Self inflicted tired back,
but complain about like a worn track.

Heโ€™s home from work, meaning muddy floors.
Dust and grime on the doors.
Shake youโ€™re head and furrow your brow.
Then take a deep sigh and mutter โ€˜wowโ€™.

A Multitude Of Jem Moments

I was sick in bed with a bad head cold but I was also needed to stay with the nieces for a few hours back when they were visiting.
My older niece was told not to bug Aunty unless she had to and snacks and a movie were set up for her occupancy ๐Ÿ˜

I woke up many hours later to find out not only had she let me sleep but sheโ€™d also watched her little sister after her nap ended, changed her diaper, put her on the potty, gotten her snacks and yogurt AND checked on me a few times!

She probably did a better job of babysitting than I would have and she was just a little darling ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ’•

Next:

My husband returned from his trip home to Holland on the 16th and I happily took him back โ˜บ๏ธ
It was nice to have him home… and the gifts he brought with him ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜œ Continue reading “A Multitude Of Jem Moments”

God’s Been Good

How so very much can change within 365 days.

Last year at this time we were actually in Canada and my sister’s family too, but we were only visiting. Not long after that trip, my friend came to Europe to adventure around with us there for a couple of weeks, as we had our apartment.

Now, only one year later, Iโ€™m here in Sask. alone, because Michiel returned to visit HIS family back in Europe and our apartment there will go from being rented out to officially sold to the tenants.

We moved to Canada after lots of paperwork and prayer and we felt that God opened some paperwork/housing/job doors just perfectly to lead us where He wanted.

So after one last visit in Europe from my Mom, (during which we got to witness the Azure Window in Malta, days before its collapse), the apartment and our lives got packed into crates and suitcases, Mike and I left on wonderful trip to South Africa and then we moved into my parent’s basement the spring of 2017.

We not only bought a home in the small โ€˜Hamletโ€™ near where I grew up, but Mike majorly renovated it and we finally moved in at the beginning of December! ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿก Continue reading “God’s Been Good”

Beginning Afresh, For The Fourth Time

Sunday Dec 10th –

First Sunday preparations from in our own home and Iโ€™m pleased to say a little talk at the parents the night before, inspired Mike to re-step up to the plate of Sunday morning breakfast making ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿณ

Something he had done for a month or two at the beginning of our marriage until he just…didnโ€™t ๐Ÿ˜œ

But his breakfast was good, the sunrise pretty from our kitchen window and the taxi service prompt ๐Ÿ˜‰

Mother and father were giving us a ride ๐Ÿ˜œ
Are we with them too much post move?? I think not, โ€˜โ€˜tis only kind to break them of us easily๐Ÿ˜‰ Continue reading “Beginning Afresh, For The Fourth Time”

As Sweet As Pie

Sunday Nov 26th –

Church was about finding the Lords will for our life.
Do we truly seek His will?
Do we really lay the decisions down for Him to control, or do we let the voices of the world, our family, friends, social media, etc., influence us more than we think and disregard what He would desire for us?

There was more, obviously, but thatโ€™s a snippet for you ๐Ÿ˜‰

Post the thought provoking sermon, we went home for lunch and I, for a nap post-hasteย โ˜บ๏ธ
Keeping Sunday tradition strong ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‹

I woke up to the pitter patter of slightly smaller, quicker feet than normal and when I got upstairs the bro and his family had come over ๐Ÿ˜Š
Some tales of our time apart were shared over pizza and that was Sunday for ya ๐Ÿ˜

Monday Nov 27th –

โ€˜Twas a day with a mission.
The first day of pie testing, for what I hope to turn into a small little local offering ๐Ÿ˜‰ Continue reading “As Sweet As Pie”

Post Vacation Splurging

Friday Nov 24th –

The blur of what day blended into which, while traveling,ย had begun.
We actually slept for most of the longest flight, which came as a surprise to me, never having had that happen before ๐Ÿ˜ณ
It was the sleep of the sore but sleep none the less and after a couple of cat naps in Vancouver and Calgary during our two little layovers, I wasnโ€™t feeling so bad come the arrival in Saskatoon.

We were happy about the Calgary layover, as it meant weโ€™d get Chick-fil-A ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

Mom had appointments in the city that coerced with our landing time, so we took a taxi to the mall to pass time, checking out some of the Black Friday deals, now becoming more and more available in Canada.
Things were seen but not bought, as the shopping mood was distant and the desire to be done, most present ๐Ÿ˜œ

Starbucks ebbed into our bloodstream and the mother picked us up and we headed home ๐Ÿ˜Š

Saturday Nov 25th –

After a long sleep, we moseyed upstairs just before noon ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

Mike decided to go into town to pick up the snow blower heโ€™d ordered and to buy a light for our bedroom from Canadian Tire. Continue reading “Post Vacation Splurging”
