A Pancake Of Uncertain Origin

This recipe is for either a Dutch baby pancake or lazy German pancake…

I donโ€™t know what name to call this, as it kind of controversial considering who I am married to and have as sibling-in-lawsย ๐Ÿคช

Iโ€™ve seen it called both but I donโ€™t believe the name, affects the taste, so dub it as you will and continue on to the part of enjoying it ย ๐Ÿ˜‰

I really like this dish, obviously or I wouldn’t be sharing the recipe.
Iโ€™m not usually a huge breakfast person and neither Michiel or I are big pancake lovers but weโ€™ve found this โ€˜heavy, curd likeโ€™ pancake to be a wonderful addition to our lifeโ€™s menu ๐Ÿ˜‰

It comes together pretty quickly but I will say that typically, Mike and I consume the entire thing, so if youโ€™re making for more than two youโ€™d best have a fair bit of milk and eggs on hand ๐Ÿ˜‰

Easy Tomato Feta Eggs

I am not much of a breakfaster but I will do brunch if the urge arises ๐Ÿ˜‰

I don’t enjoy morning cooking that includes too much effort or to many dishes and personally, nothing overly sweet either (usually ๐Ÿ˜œ).

So, this egg breakfast that comes together quickly, easily and all in one dish, has fast became a flavour packed favourite and easy to change upย to suit your own tastebuds ๐Ÿ˜„

I hope you enjoy it as much as we’ve been, we have eaten it with a side of toast or some fruit!

I got the base recipe from ย Innocent Delightย but tweaked a few things to make it to our preferences.

A Rejected Proposal, A Tolerated Existence

Friday Feb 17th –

We hadn’t seen Mikes friend Durk since way back at the start of our ‘living in the cottage’ days, so a visit was arranged and he was coming for a breakfast made by Mike that morning.

I asked if I should make something and Mike answered that no, Durk had asked that Mike make the same breakfast he had the last time we hung out ๐Ÿ˜
Guess my services are no longer required ๐Ÿ˜

Sugar bread French toast was fried up, banana sliced, whipped cream, brown sugar and butter put out and plates happily filled once Durk arrived.

He stayed and visited for a while before continuing on his way and though the visit was short, he and Mike managed to get a lot out ๐Ÿ˜œ

I’d had a bad sleep, so after some writing I went to lay down and the lay down turned into only waking up at 4:30 ๐Ÿ˜‹

Mike had some things to check out for the grandparents, so he’d went out to do that and was gone when I awoke.
Which wasn’t a bad thing… every couple needs a little space when the husband is high energy and not currently working ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜œ

Mike made us some salami toasts for supper and then proceeded to beg me to go for a walk.
In the dark.
For no reason ๐Ÿ™„ Continue reading “A Rejected Proposal, A Tolerated Existence”

Looking for Loot With My Love

Monday Feb 13th –

By the time morning coffee was had, social media outlets checked, the apartment cleaned and laundry done, more of the day was gone then I care to admit.

But as usual, the fresh feeling post vacuum/mop/dust, was splendid ๐Ÿ˜

I rewarded myself with an iced coffee โ˜•๏ธ

I’ve tried more elaborate iced coffee recipes and though good, this simple and fast method sure does the trick.
Stir in your desired amount of sweetened condensed milk and = enjoy ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

We had purchased barley while we were in France and I was looking forward to eating it, prepared in a tomato beef barley soup I concocted that day. Continue reading “Looking for Loot With My Love”

French Toast Casserole

Here’s the recipe I used for the french toast casserole!

I didn’t have the one from home and the people who could get it to me were sleeping when I needed it so I found this one via Pinterest at ‘ Creme De La Crumb Blog ‘

Below is the recipe I got from her blog but be sure to check out her page, I’m pretty sure I’ll be trying a few more of her recipes ๐Ÿ˜‰
