Falling In Love

Friday July 21st –

While waiting for my friend to arrive for a visit, I got to test out the ‘one cup’ option on our new machine and it worked brilliantly πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ’•β˜•οΈ
A delicious, single cup of coffee in minutes and no wasted coffee left to grow old.

I was already falling in love with this ‘Ninja’ (though I would prefer it had a different name) 😜

I attempted deep-frying some rice paper rolls I’d made the day before, as Pinterest seemed to say they could be deep-fried.
Pinterest doesn’t ALWAYS know πŸ™„πŸ˜¬

(Pre frying… when they looked cool)

Instead of frying, they almost melted… falling apart and becoming completely saturated with oil throughout and after one test bite, I wished I could take it back and now I don’t know when I’ll ever be eating rice paper rolls again, fried or not πŸ’πŸ»

The pal arrived and not long after her, the husband and Mother returned as well.

A kind of full house, with no full bellies… so that had to be fixed and I was the one to do it πŸ˜‹

A recipe from Canadian Living had caught my eye so Mel and I got to work making it.

The bits and pieces came together and a lovely aroma began filling the kitchen. Continue reading “Falling In Love”

Couture, Cousine, Cleaning And Construction

Tuesday July 11th –

A day to the city for a collection of reasons 😁

Mother/Daughter date.
Clothes if per chance any caught our eyes.
New foods to test and satisfy our need of delicious things.
A cement order to drop off for me.
Costco for all.
Art things to inspire.

… you get the idea 😏

If not, well, I hate to say it but you may be slightly daft 😘

Anywho!

Firstly I had returns to do and my, did it feel wonderful 😍
The sense of NOT needing and getting money back for things that were needed… it’s a hard feeling to beat πŸ˜‰πŸ˜œ

Everyday should start with hefty returns πŸ˜‚πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Then to old navy were I happily scoured through the kids sales πŸ˜„
For me 😎

I love when the kids section is big enough for adults πŸ™ˆ

Lets just say the day was off to a good start😜

We went and wandered around Art Placement, eyeing up all the supplies and tools and imaging the greatness that could come from them 😍

Then it was lunch time! πŸ˜„

Una Pizza and Wine  on broadway was the decided upon establishment and it turned it to be a good choice ☺️

An open kitchen allowed for full viewing of the food prep area.
Our server was really friendly and all of the menu options looked appealing.
After much contemplation we settled on a caprese salad for a starter and a tiki pizza for the main.

Both were tasty, the salad having the odd smattering of salt throughout the colorful tomatoes, cucumber and mozza.
The pizza had a thin crisp crust, not too crunchy, not too thin, though the ‘shaved’ pineapple on top, was indeed shaved… being paper-thin πŸ˜‰

A unique aspect that I never would have thought of but absolutely loved, there was a book on tape playing in the bathroom?! πŸ˜‚πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

We left very satisfied (though slightly in suspense since the book on tape had begun a pivotal moment as I left 😬 ).

I’d recommend you try it if you’re in Saskatoon for lunch πŸ˜‰

We peaked in a few nearby shops, seeing many lovely things and walking away from them all😜

Fable ice cream was another place on the ‘to try’ list and I’m glad it was πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ¦

Had Mom not heard of it via Instagram, we’d never have seen it from the road.
No signage was there and it’s a little wee store from with this tastefully simple, black board out front.

We both got a single scoop of roasted pistachio ice cream in a waffle cone.
Ice cream and cones being homemade.
Now, the taste?

Amazing.
The roasted nuts and creamy ice cream in the delicious and crunchy waffle cone, made my mouth and heart sing.
The price?

Well… my heart kind of hummed then 😜
$13 and two, single ice creams later we were extremely happy with the flavour but for the size… I wouldn’t be spending $13.00 on a small, sweet treat that often, but that’s just me personally ☺️

We walked and shopped and did city things and then went to Costco…always the last hurrah 😬

On our way home I had to get Mom to stop so I could deliver some cement decor pieces that had been ordered.
The lady who’d ordered them had ever so patiently waited for me to bring them by and for that patience I decided to make a little something extra for her.

And so it became and shall always be, the ‘Patience Pot’ πŸ˜„πŸ˜œ

We got home, passing many a beautiful canola field set against the gloomy skies ☺️🌦🌾

Groceries and all the goodies were then unpacked and supper sat down to with Mike and Dad.
A Costco chicken and Greek salad.
Fast, easy, good πŸ˜‹

The rest of the evening was recoup from city time 😜

But all in all, it was a good day πŸ˜ŠπŸ’•πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Wednesday July 12th –

Mom drove me in to town and dropped me off to clean a house while she did errands.

Cleaning was, cleaning.

 πŸ’πŸ»πŸ’¦πŸ›πŸš½πŸ›πŸ›‹

I say that, but honestly, though I haven’t done it a lot yet, I can say that it’s the best job I’ve had and I don’t even really dread it the night before 😜
(Coming from someone who hasn’t had that many jobs I know… but still πŸ˜¬πŸ™ˆ)

Mother picked me up and we went out for lunch with a friend from church 😊

The Rusty Owl was the restaurant of choice and pizza once again the dish to be eaten 😜
The margarita pizza was very tasty, fresh basil adding a lovely aspect.

One last thing was on the agenda before heading home and that was to buy primer.

Yes folks, we are almost at a priming stage on the house!
Mikes been working on it a ton and it’s had some big changes the last week, so right now, progress is steady and an update will be posted in not too long 😊
