Wednesday Oct 18th –

It had indeed been a breezy night, the whirling and gusting making for a slightly restless sleep…

or so I was told 😜

 

All others who occupy the house were away, so ”twas a day of self reflection 😏😜

 

Not actually, I just did odds and ends and had to decide what to make for supper.

Peanut chicken with zucchini noodles was the poison of choice as we had zucchini, which isn’t always the case, and the sister had tried the recipe and recommended it 💁🏻

A colorful variety of veggies came together and a delicious sauce began to blend.

‘Pickled’ Pink

Monday Dec 19th –

 

 

 

Mom and I had a small chat with Pro that morning as we sipped our coffee and I awakened a little more.

Once our talk with her was finished we drove over to Becca’s to go for a walk with her and Spencer… the things that time apart from each other can change, like me going for a MORNING walk 😏
A 5 km speed walk was taken on the snowy road behind the house 🏠❄️👭🐶👩‍👦
(and I do mean speed, mom and I may have short legs but that doesn’t mean we can’t move😜)

 

Once back at the house, mom began concocting some ooey-gooey delicious chocolate cornflake dessert.

 
I had wanted to make them in Holland but hadn’t been able to due to no corn syrup.

The list of things I want to take back is getting longer and on the heavier side 😬🙈

I worked on the blog throughout the day, determined to not get too far behind and cause unnecessary pain in catching up.

Afterwards, Mike began making some sweets of his own.

 
Very thin, buttery, Norwegian cookies that he made once before while we were dating.


 
They are delicious, though extremely time consuming, so the perfect thing for him to spend the day on 😉😋

Simply Taken Suggestions😏

Monday Nov 21st –

 
Back at our little abode.

As most my days at home the day began with reading and drawing.


But the drawing took longer than usual since I was feeling shaky from the still present sickness 🙄

The first bracelet order was photographed, packaged and sealed, ready to be sent off to New Zealand.

Color Picking With The Color Blind

Monday October 11th –

 

 

Unpacking, laundry and writing filled my Monday.

I don’t remember what I ate or anything in between so this will be a very short daily post😜

Lisanne and Amy were over so I sat and drew with them for a few minutes, communicating as much as fake sign language let us 😏

Supper was a classic Dutch meal (prepared by Inge) that I had yet to eat while being in Holland, ‘boerenkool met worst’.

Breakfast was some warmed up to perfection, poppy seed bread ❤️

It’s such a sad thing finding a food to love actually.
It’s something to be enjoyed and dreamt of forever after, always thought of fondly and with a watering mouth, but nothing else even slightly similar will ever be as satisfying!
