The Pain Of Blessings

The Pain Of Blessings

How annoying it is, to open the fridge and have to make a meal.
To prepare it all.
Give the dinner call and then still have to wash and dry.

Picking paint can be such a bore.
Should it be darker, just a little more?
Pick your color, buy the supplies.
Do the job and rub your eyes.
Self inflicted tired back,
but complain about like a worn track.

He’s home from work, meaning muddy floors.
Dust and grime on the doors.
Shake you’re head and furrow your brow.
Then take a deep sigh and mutter β€˜wow’.

Living With Distractions

Sunday Feb 5th –

Mike made us bacon and eggs for breakfast before we headed off to Germany for church.

Once again it was nice to have someone with, to whom I could discuss the differences of the service, big or small and know she too would see them as different and not as silly things not worth mentioning 😜

New faces were introduced and it helped in piecing together our family for Zoe’s future information and then we headed out to get lunch.

To the Greek! 😏

(Where else on a Sunday afternoon Right?!)

Mike ordered take away since we were invited to eat at our cousins house and that’s where we hung out for a little bit of the afternoon.

Once we made it back to the apartment
Zoe and I crashed… until 7 that evening 😬😝

And we mostly only got up because Mike began making noise 😜

We felt pretty drained, as per usual after extensive napping πŸ˜‹
So our evening was spent in various forms of non taxing entertainment. Continue reading “Living With Distractions”

Be Our Guest!

Sunday Jan 22nd –

Church was a little different then usual for me since the translating wasn’t available.
I made do by reading a message on my phone and trying my best to focus on that and not the noise of German being spoke around me πŸ˜‹

Once we were back in Velp we quickly stopped at the grocery store for a few things, since I’d kind of forgotten until late the night before, that when you have guests over you should probably also have dessert 😜

Mikes cousins were our guests for the afternoon and lunch was my typical Sunday fare if we eat at the apartment, taco salad.

I’d managed to whip up a Lazy Cheesecake for something sweet and we enjoyed that, and our company until late that afternoon.

I spent some time working on my lettering later that evening and then chatted with mother and father for a few moments before calling it a day.

Knowing A Lot And Nothing At All

Wednesday Jan 18th –

We decided to call a realtor to come check out the apartment and tell us a little bit about what options we had available and in doing so, hopefully figure out some steps to take in our upcoming future πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ 🏒 πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

We were told the possibilities are to put it for sale now or later, or rent it out once we move out.
It was a fairly long chat and much was discussed and learnt and we booked two more realtors to look at the apartment the next day so we could find the best package.

We really don’t have too much of a plan in place.

We know we go to Canada for a visit in April since Mike found more than amazing deals back on cyber Monday.

We know our plan to move to Canada seems like it may happen sooner rather than later since nothing is really holding us now.

We know there is no real rush, but we also want a bit of a game plan.

Lastly, we know paperwork takes awhile and though ours is mailed in and being assessed, there is no telling how long it will take.

So we know a lot but also not really anything at all πŸ™ƒ
If anyone has any wise words of wisdom, let us know 😜

Later on Mike had to go pick up the phone he was buying and also mail off his work one.

I stayed back and created supper using gyros meat we had frozen. Continue reading “Knowing A Lot And Nothing At All”

The Future Awaits/Waiting For Our Future

Monday Jan 16th –

As I sat upon the couch with my morning coffee, about to set up the laptop and work on the blog, the front door began rattling and I curiously awaited who would appear from behind it since Mike was supposed to be at work at the office, but he is also the only one with a key?

Mike came in and greeted me with a smile and I confusedly asked him why he was back, thinking there must have been heavy traffic and he just decided to work from the house, but this was not the case.

Turns out, he and his bosses had a talk and after much thought and prayer on our part, he will no longer be working with the same company he was.
It was something we were planning on, just perhaps not expecting it to all take place this soon, but we know God is in control and we are believing that this is His way of opening up some paths and helping us plan our future/job/Canada move etc. etc.

‘Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.’ Proverbs 16:3.

(But, this now means I’ll be stuck with him 24/7 until any other plans are made and for this reason I may start sounding even crazier then I usually do, just a warning 😜)

Since he was back at the house anyways, I gave him a task to complete which I knew he would be much better at then I. Continue reading “The Future Awaits/Waiting For Our Future”

DIY Polaroid Display πŸ“·βœ‚οΈπŸ’•

DIY Polaroid Display πŸ“·βœ‚οΈπŸ’•

During our stay in Canada I seen a little Polaroid display that I liked but as I said, it was little.

I wanted to be able to display more than just a couple photos  at a time, so I kept it in mind to attempt making myself, once we got back to Holland.

Mike and I picked up the supplies and then when he was away for the day, I decided it was time to recreate/slightly upgrade the design I’d seen😁

Items needed

β€’ 9 Binder clips in preferred metal/color
β€’ Wooden board, I used 27cm x 38cm
β€’ Self adhesive wallpaper/Drawer Liner
β€’ Scissors
β€’ Strong double-sided tape
β€’ Duck tape or masking tape

(Size and binder clip number vary depending on personal preference.)

Thanks to my good friend Mel I already had the lovely gold binder clips πŸ˜‰πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

I’m sure you could find them at a number of places that sell home/office goods or at a craft store.

I love marble and marble look things so that of course was the drawer liner I chose, rather than leaving it plain.

If wallpaper/liner isn’t your thing, there are many other options like staining the wood, painting it or leaving it plain etc. Continue reading “DIY Polaroid Display πŸ“·βœ‚οΈπŸ’•”
