Again And Again

Monday Dec 4th –

After I made us someΒ French Omeletes for breakfast, Mike and I went to our place to work on getting it completed.

Cleaning, cleaning again, moving stuff, painting small things, moving the same things again etc., filled the day.
Mike worked on patching the trim for the most part and a list of what was required to still buy pre move-in was started.

And that is how our day was spent πŸ’πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Mom had hamburger steaks prepared for our supper and then the parents and Mike were off to pickle ball 😏

Tuesday Dec 5th –

French omeletes made again, mostly because Mom had tried a bite the morning before and requested her own for that morning πŸ˜‰
And then back to the house, again. Continue reading “Again And Again”

Achievement Level: 500

Two Years, 500 Posts

I applaud myself on this achievement 😜

Did I ever think I would actually complete 500 writing projects/assignments while trying desperately and agonizingly to complete my one or two sentences for a Wordly Wise school assignment?

No 😏

So, it has been around two years give or take a few days, and I have been thinking a fair bit about what I would do when this two year mark came.

I have decided to (try to) write less about what I may have eaten or how much I may have napped and stop wasting your and my time, with such meaningless dribble 😏

I won’t stop writing completely because I have actually really enjoyed keeping this blog and I know it will be awesome to look back on.Β

I hope you have all enjoyed it up to this point as well 😊

Wooden Decor Blocks

Looking for small, cute, shabby chic decorations or gifts?

I have just the thing for you πŸ˜‰

Sticking with the distressed/antique look of the wood pieces I used, I did the font in an overly distressed manner.

Since it’s repurposed wood, the ‘blemishes’, ‘smudges’ and ‘discolorations’ are all a part of the look and charm, making each one a totally unique piece πŸ˜‰πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Local pick up in Prince Albert area is available.
I can look into shipping if anyone further away has an interest 😊

Leave me a comment saying SOLD and the coordinating block number and I’ll send you an email so we can arrange delivery 😊

Cost per block: $5.00

Block #1: but first…pray & Blessed.

Block #2: Dream & adore

Jem Moment: Home Tour πŸ’•πŸ’πŸ“½

Though we still have the odd photo to hang/item to find a home, the renovations are pretty much completely finished and I (we) figured it was time to show you the whole place all neat and tidy like πŸ˜‰

But first, the before pictures, of course πŸ’πŸ»

Jem Moment πŸ—πŸ’πŸ’‘

We officially own an apartment 😱

After being technically houseless since June and living with each set of parents, today was the awaited day… papers were signed, keys handed over and voilΓ !

We almost didn’t have it today because an official English translator wasn’t present at the reading of the papers.
We had been told one wouldn’t be needed, only to find out today that one indeed was needed and getting a court ordered translator isn’t a one day (or sometimes even a one week) process.
Thankfully they found a way around it we were able to get it all done as previously intended 😁

We now have a house on the 8th floor ⬆️

Sneak peak at our 50 square feetπŸ˜β¬†οΈ

Be prepared for many house pictures, cleaning stories and decoration discussions coming upπŸ˜‰

One Door Opened And Another Door Closed

Friday Sept 23rd –

The door to fall seemed to finally crack open here, so it was time to break out the new long sleeve shirt and post wedding attending-beach wave, pony tail hair πŸ˜πŸ’•
(Long, overly descriptive sentence I know😝)

Mike and I headed to Arnhem on a mission to find some more clothing for ‘We Nomads’.
And the mission was accomplished πŸ‘«πŸ‘•πŸ›

We managed to find, select and then downsize our selection and make it out of town with a bag full of things to take to the embroidery shop πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ»
That much decision making meant we needed some nourishment, found in the form of the very typical, very Dutch fries with mayo and peanut sauce.

After a quick, design/consolation stop at the house, we drove the goods off and now it’s a waiting game until we get the call to pick’em up and send’em out! πŸ˜„

I know it’s not my project, but I must admit I really enjoy the process of it all.
The finding, tweaking designs, writing up information for said products ✍🏻
And Mike is kind enough to indulge my tendency to take over and we worked together whilst sipping our test of the chai tea mix we bought and we will be buying more 😎

(I hope πŸ˜‹)

We went over to Sarah’s to visit her and the girls for a little bit and then it was my lucky night because I got to eat DΓΆner kebab all by myself, no sharing since Mike had already eaten leftover pasta 😏😜

It’s the little things about marriage that you sometimes don’t realize matter, like always having to share all the good food 😝

Saturday Sept 24th –

Brunch was eaten and the next memorable thought was that lunch needed to be found 😜
The human brain, such a wonder and yet ours seem extremely small and mainly food focussed.

We went into town and got kibbeling for lunch and then checked out a new homey/accessory store across the street😊
A few other shops were perused, groceries bought and then back to the car to go check out the second hand store quickly.

But somewhere between groceries and getting to the second hand store, tragedy struck.
Literally.
I closed my head in the car door…
I blame Holland as it has crazy small parking lots, which caused Mike to park in an itsy bitsy space, which made me have to squeeeeze into the car since I wasn’t able to open the door very wide.
Causing it to spring back and be stopped from closing completely, only by my head.

A headache then came along to the second hand store but was momentarily relieved after a find, was found!
An old school desk that needed some TLC and will hopefully be used as a painting/blogging desk once we get into the apartment πŸ˜„

The day before I had spotted a rug in the sale corner of IKEA and I was trying to decide if it was a good color combo with the other colors I was thinking of for the apartment.
I decided it was, (with the help of the mom and sisterπŸ˜‰) but too late πŸ˜”
Sadly, it was sold and all my daydreams about on point decor that I’d had throughout the day were crushed.
