Starbucks Copycat Peach Green Tea W/Coconut Milk

Copycat Starbucks Peach Green Tea W/Coconut Milk

Years ago now (how sad is it that I have to say YEARS) Starbucks had a lime refresher and it was the epitome of a perfect refreshing summer beverage, especially when you got it made with coconut milk 🀀πŸ₯₯β˜€οΈ

Now traumatically enough… Starbucks got rid of that,Β one of my most loved drinks of all time.

This last year, I decided to try the peach green tea with coconut milk as a way to fill that void and ya know what?? It wasn’t half bad!
Was it that same utter washing over of summer breezes and glorious cool subtleties as the lime refresher had boasted? I don’t honestly totally remember that drink anymore so I don’t know πŸ˜‚
BUT I CAN say, I truly love the peach green tea made with coconut, a LOT.
So much so, that we (my sister and I) decided we must attempt to replicate it at our homes because come summer, we aren’t going to be running into Starbucks to quench our drink desires nor, do we appreciate what they do to our wallets innards πŸ€ͺ

The hardest part of this ‘recipe’ aside from trying not to make multiples of it everyday, is probably brewing the tea and that isn’t very difficult at all πŸ€ͺ

So, with a special thanks to the ‘more than half the recipe’ creator, my sister, here you have itΒ πŸ€“

The ultra intricate, in depth and specially formulated recipe –

Ingredients:

1 Cup Peach Juice

1/2 Cup Tazo Zen Green Tea

1/4 Cup Silk Unsweetened Coconut Milk

Mix and Enjoy!

Recipe notes:

Peach juice was a little tricky to find and as it’s a no name brand, I realize it may not be found everywhere.Β Check the refrigerated juice area, as we couldn’t find any in the regular unrefrigerated drink section.

The brand of tea is non negotiable, it’s got that hint of mint which literally MAKES the drink. Boil water and add 1 tea bag per each cup of water.
Steep for 8 minutes, cool and use for the drink making.

We’ve found that aggressively shaking the coconut milk before adding it to the drink, helps reduce the curdled look.Β The curdling doesn’t actually affect the taste or texture but purely for enjoyments sake, it’s nicer to not see what look like chunks πŸ€“

Ice, straw & a pretty glass to up the enjoyment factor are also advised πŸ€“πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Sip and dream of the forthcoming summer, if you live where there is currently snow.
If you don’t and it’s warm and sunny where you are, please just drink your drink and be quietΒ πŸ€ͺ

Doable And Delectable Overnight Bread

I give all the credit to my mom (Diamond and Willow)Β for finding and introducing this recipe to me.

Bread making doesn’t get any easier and the outcome doesn’t get much better! In my opinion πŸ˜‰

It’s also super customizable… If you try it, I’d love to see or hear about it, either with a comment here or a tag on instagram @JemstoryΒ πŸ™‚

Ingredients :

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 cups whole wheat flour

2 tsp salt

1 tsp active dry yeast

2 1/4 cup warm water

1/3 cup sunflower seeds*

1/3 cup dried cranberries*

* The seeds and cranberries are up to you as far as personal preference goes. The original recipe calls for 1/3 cup flax seeds but I didn’t have any so I threw in the cranberries instead. You can change up the seeds and berries depending on your taste buds or pantry innards πŸ˜‰

Directions :

In a large bowl (preferably with a lid), mix the flour, salt and yeast and seeds together.

Pour the warm water into the bowl and using a spatula, mix until it is all incorporated.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and let it sit on the counter overnight or for around 12 hours.

(If you use a lid, just check it after a couple of hours to make sure it didn’t pop open from the yeast expanding πŸ˜‰

Pre-heat your oven to 450 f degrees.

Place your cast iron, dutch oven or clay pot and lid (I use my moms Pampered Chef Clay dish), into the oven so it heats up as well.

Once the pot has heated, remove it from the oven and take the lid off, as that is too tricky to do after this next bit πŸ˜‰

Flour your work surface and hands VERY well and with said flour covered hands, gently remove the dough from the bowl onto the counter and roughly shape it into a ball.

Take the ball of dough and drop it into the pot.

Cover with the lid and place it back into the oven.

Bake for 30 minutes with the lid on, after which remove the lid and bake for another 15-20 minutes until the top is nice and golden and crusty looking.

Remove from the oven and after a few moments remove from the pot and let it cool.

That is if you can control your desire to taste test a slice with a big slab of butter πŸ˜‰

Easy Tomato Feta Eggs

I am not much of a breakfaster but I will do brunch if the urge arises πŸ˜‰

I don’t enjoy morning cooking that includes too much effort or to many dishes and personally, nothing overly sweet either (usually 😜).

So, this egg breakfast that comes together quickly, easily and all in one dish, has fast became a flavour packed favourite and easy to change upΒ to suit your own tastebuds πŸ˜„

I hope you enjoy it as much as we’ve been, we have eaten it with a side of toast or some fruit!

I got the base recipe from Β Innocent DelightΒ but tweaked a few things to make it to our preferences.

Vehemently And Pathetically Appealing

Tuesday Oct 31st –

After some morning coffee and contemplations I headed to our house so I could use the wifi and drop off some more boxes.

Day three of the ’14’ day fix.

Still feeling hungry.

Feeling very sore.

Not seeing any abs.

Beginning to question this program 😏😜

Not really, it’s just when evening hits and I want sweets or popcorn or just anything very vehemently, that it feels hardest 😫

Or when I don’t have a morning cookie with my coffee πŸ˜’

I shouldn’t even be blogging right now cause I’m making myself hungry 😜

Magically Easy Unicorn Cake πŸ˜‰πŸ¦„βœ¨

Magically Easy Unicorn Cake πŸ˜‰πŸ¦„

So, I’m going to try to write out the steps and process I followed when making the unicorn cake for the niece and my birthday’s.

Now, don’t be detoured if you haven’t made cakes before, as this was really only my third or so, actually legitimately decorated cake and my first EVER with fondant! 😬

After pinteresting it up for the style I was going to attempt achieving, items needed were assembledπŸ₯„πŸ°

Magic Ingredients:

One box of confetti cake mix
(because never, EVER do I bother making a cake from scratch)

Three tubs of Betty Crocker icing
(as I was too lazy to make the homemade kind πŸ˜‹)

A Blessed Little Bundle Of Sarcastic, Introverted Goodness

Sunday June 11th –

The day 22 years ago that a blessed little bundle of sarcastic, introverted goodness was born πŸ˜πŸ’•

Me I mean 😏

As I did my hair for church, I heard the coffee being sat down that father had delivered.
I went to retrieve it and this is how it was presented πŸ˜‰πŸ’•β˜•οΈ

Upstairs for the Sunday morning bacon and eggs I went, enjoying it and happily wearing one of my new necklaces πŸ˜‹

(Who else kind of try’s to plan an outfit around a new piece of jewelry when they get some? πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‹)

Anyways, off to church we went πŸ˜ŠπŸ’’

It was a simple lesson about Mosses parents and here’s a smidgen of what I picked up πŸ˜‰

How we need to pray and trust God to answer, be it moments or years down the road but we can know that he will always answer.
It’s up to us on what attitude we take during the waiting process.
Something which I personally, could be reminded of often.

After church it was a lunch out, in honour of my being born.
What better way to be celebrated then with food right? πŸ˜πŸ˜‹

We chose Montana’s to eat at and I ordered the ever tasty, though I always forget just how spicy, Kapow shrimp is.
I may or may not have requested bites from everyone else’s plates too πŸ˜‹

Always wanting chicken and being interested in tasting the reuben sandwich… both were good too πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

The family jokingly told the waiter to let the staff sing happy birthday to me but I told them if they did, it would ruin lunch so they told him not to do it… but to still bring the birthday dessert 😏😜

It was a cold cookie with ice cream and after tasting it, we understood why it was freeπŸ™„

Then to Starbucks for a free birthday drink😎
Something you can’t really pass up if you’re near enough to a Starbucks and your wallet means anything to you πŸ˜‹

A big size/venti lime refresher with coconut milk,  filled my belly and my taste buds sang a happy (Hawaiian like) song πŸ˜‹πŸŒΊπŸŒ΄πŸŽΆ

(I always forget which drink size goes by what name πŸ˜œπŸ™„)

A customary Sunday nap was taken by all 😴

Dad made us some Virgin Caesars and a while later Mom made cheese bread and heated up some leftover farmers sausage soup for a snack.
She also made dad AND Mikes work lunches.
Another perk of being the birthday girl πŸ˜‰πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

I began the process of sorting through pictures on my phone πŸ™„
A process I abhor.
I decided that every time I’m on my phone I have to delete at least one photo or if it’s pictures of house ideas, I have to create a single collage to keep, rather then multiple/hard to find photos 😬

I got distracted by the pretty sky which matched the lilacs 😊

And had to take a picture… πŸ™„

I never even do anything with my photos!
I’m a horrible album maker so I don’t know why I’m such a photo hoarder? πŸ€”

Speaking of photos though, has anyone ever gotten a blog printed into book form??
I’m considering doing that to kind of save/have a tangible story in our home but I’m horrible with computers and would like to hear some recommendations if anyone happens to have any? 😊

Or if you’re just a smart computer person and have time to help a simpleton in the Prince Albert Sask. area, let me know that too πŸ˜œπŸ™ˆπŸ’•

Monday June 12th-

Back to being uncelebrated πŸ™„πŸ˜œ

But that didn’t mean there wasn’t still cake 😎

It’s awful having it around though because it becomes my breakfast lunch and go between snacks 😬🍰🍴

Mother was headed off to work so I was alone most of the day.

Finding meaningless tasks to occupy myself so I didn’t have to begin what I’d been putting off for weeks… 😬

Folding the clothes in our drawers πŸ™„πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚

I try so hard, really I do.

But as much as I like a clean kitchen, I cannot seem to keep my clothes folded.

I know some of you are shuttering at the very thought… forgive me πŸ˜‹

But finally downstairs I went, sorting and folding clothes and then boxing up home items we’ve been accumulating so they aren’t stacked all over our room.

It always feels so good afterwords πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Garage sale #2, where ya at?! 😜

After a quick chat with my sister-in-law, I hurriedly finished the pile I was working on to go sit outside.
She’d told me the UV index was surprisingly high… and my tan was fading 😜

Also, I needed to reward myself for accomplishing what I had…
Yes I’m a self rewarder and I need to promise myself things, to get stuff done πŸ™„

Also, yes, I am an adult… ish 😜

I was in charge of supper and chicken had seemed like a steady meal of late, so I made the meatloaf Mom had suggested the night before.
(It’s just so hard to NOT make a simple chicken dishπŸ™„)

Once Mom was back from work, we decided to go for a walk/jog before the guys got back for supper.

So bear spray and water were readied and off we went for an hour-long bout of exercise.

Bears have been spotted a fair bit around the area lately, adding an extra adventure factor to the walks 😜😏🐻

Meatloaf, fried rice and a caprese salad was prepared for dinner, with Dad questionably eyeing the salad 😜

The salad was a copycat of one, Mike and I ate in South Africa.
Just mozzarella cheese, tomatoes and cucumbers sliced and layered, salt and pepper and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar (the odd basil leaf would have been tasty too but I only just thought of that now 😜) πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ˜ŠπŸ₯’πŸ…πŸ§€
