Not Overly Highlightable, Highlighted Moments

Monday April 24th-

Mom was still away and Mike was at work but the way our upcoming week was looking, I decided to get the house partially cleaned in early preparation for some guests ๐Ÿ˜‰

(I may not be the kid at home anymore but there’s still that small fear that something that should have been done while Mom was gone, didn’t get done ๐Ÿ˜œ)

So I cleaned and straightened up annnd I’m getting into more detail than necessary if I’m really trying to stick to writing the more highlightable things in our lives now ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜‹

Mother returned, we chatted, I blogged, I helped her narrow down a selection of art pieces for the kids play room, she made us a snack, the end. ๐Ÿ˜

Or not, because I did also make us some great (though nasty looking) juice.

(Feel like a mad scientist by making it in the glass beaker like measuring things ๐Ÿค“๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ”ฌ๐Ÿ˜‹)

I also found a ridiculously adorable little key that was oh so perfect for me, in amongst the keys I’d gotten in Rosthern.

Mike was spending the night in Carrot River with my bro, for a work function (getting all serious about his logger position ๐Ÿ˜‰) so I had a peaceful night of no one stealing the covers ๐Ÿ˜œ

A Home For Shakespeare And A Home For Us

Saturday April 22nd –

It had been slightly suggested/half planned but not really, that Becca, Spencer and I would go into town for some ‘fun’ shopping opposed to Beccas regular rush for groceries and high priority needs only, since she’s got a toddler and the baby to lug around.

I readied myself and was just finishing my last bite of beautifully buttery toast when they arrived to pick me up.
Mike had the day off and I listed tasks he could do if he so chose, to occupy his day.
Country life may not be his strong point ๐Ÿ˜œ

Becca proclaimed that since ‘she never knew what to buy me, as she doesn’t know my taste’ that she would be a dear and purchase a pot I’d seen and liked for Shakespeare, my mint plant… He’s very dramatic… one moment strong and reaching towards the sun and the next, he’s fallen down, his leaves turned floorward within not even hours of each other ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ™„

At least I know what he wants, maybe I’ll actually be able to keep this plant alive ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

(RIP to all my Orlandos, Bernard and one other plant who’s name I forget)

A weak reason to buy me a gift indeed, but a kindly gesture ๐Ÿ˜‰

We accomplished this and that, nothing monumental but still getting the little bits done that are oft pushed to the side during a busier trip.

Mikes ‘kind of’ boss was in town and wanted to meet up for lunch.. a.k.a, my bro ๐Ÿ˜

Once we returned home, Mike was found working on the prototype for a project I’d wanted to try but didn’t really have any idea where to start, so we shall see how that progresses ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ’ก Continue reading “A Home For Shakespeare And A Home For Us”

Let Me Espresso Myself

Thursday April 20th –

The sun was trying to shine and it was turning into what looked like a nice day.

Which was perfect for our plans of going to Rosthern, for lunch with a friend.

But that was later in the day and my morning was taken up with writing and trying out the espresso maker once again.

Mom and I got decently full, little cups, my cup being one purchased at a second hand store in Holland, just before we’d moved ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

The espresso turned out lovely and it will probably become more and more of a daily thing ๐Ÿ˜‰
Have any of you tried espresso from Italy?
Or just in general? What did you think of it?๐Ÿ˜Ž
I love It ๐Ÿ˜ฌโค๏ธ

Mothers friend arrived and off to Rosthern we went, a little wee town with a restaurant inside of an old railway station. The Station Arts Centre.

Amidst lively conversation, soups, sandwiches and a salad were enjoyed. Continue reading “Let Me Espresso Myself”

You’re The Pool To My Villa

Wednesday Oct 5th –

We weren’t super close to town and I also really didn’t feel like getting ready to go into town again, so breakfast was a mix of granola bars and cookies bought at the grocery store the day before ๐Ÿ˜‹

Then, to the poolside ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Weather was awesome, pretty much pure sunshine after a few clouds passed by and perfect for sun bathing and trying to get hot enough to jump in the chilly pool ๐Ÿ˜‹

Mike couldn’t handle just sitting still and eatingย the frozen pizza we had bought for lunch so he went to town and foundย some bakery goodies and coffees โ˜บ๏ธ

The breads were very tasty and cheese filled, (as much of the Greek stuff is) the espresso iced coffees perfect for the lounging life and the dessert… confusing ๐Ÿ˜œ

It had the same filling as baklava but instead of being between sheets of phyllo it had a stringy, almost dry noodle like pastry surrounding it and it was such a weird texture it really weirded out the mouth and it did notย get finished ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

After eating we decided to jump into the pool and just get it over with๐Ÿ’ฆ
No time to waste tiptoeing in all slow and shivery like ๐Ÿ˜

Sea’s Of Blue-Raspberry Slushy

Tuesday Oct 4th –

We said goodbye to ourย Villa Levante ย room

and went back to the Tranakasย Bakery for breakfast.

It was enjoyed once again and then we had to say goodbye to that place too.

Travel is an awesome adventure but also pretty sad when you think of all the new places and things you find to like and then just as quickly have to leave for forever probably.

But we had something else to go discover, and that was the iconic shipwreck beach!
