A Prance Through Rebelling Nature

Saturday July 29th –

The sister cooked, I painted and wrote, Mother child reared 😜

The enchiladas Pro had whipped up, were on the menu for a late lunch, so Mike returned from working on our house to join us in eating our ‘once a year’ Mexican meal, always prepared by Pro πŸ˜‹

I made everyone mojitos and we ate out on the deck, enjoying the weather and the fare 😁

We planned on no supper, due to the late lunch and prepared snacks to have while watching a movie that Alaina could enjoy with us/or more so us watch with her, to appease her, as musicals aren’t the all time fave in our household πŸ˜‹

Alas, when we went to play it, it hadn’t actually downloaded, so the whole evening plan was undone πŸ˜πŸ™„

Completing (and adding to) The List

Friday Dec 9th –

Nom, nom, nom πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ»β˜•οΈπŸ’•

We had some stuff to get done pre Canada and Friday was the day to get it done!

We got ready and then went into Doesburg to get a start at it.
First place we stumbled upon was a new little shop with an assortment of handmade items and there we were able to check an item off the list, which hadn’t even been on the list πŸ˜‹

(Does anyone else write things down on their list just so they can cross it off to feel good about what they got done ? πŸ™ˆ)

I looked around an antique type store while Mike went to get a parking ticket and I found some goodies that needed to leave with us, so when Mike got back we went to buy them but before we could do that he got talking to the owner and she showed him a very old, literally giant-sized, atlas.

It was very cool but not 150 euros cool, specially when Mike doesn’t have his own office and our apartment space is already limited without a giants book in it, no matter how cool πŸ˜‰

So it was left and a linen map from the 1930’s was purchased for him instead πŸ˜‹

Next, Mike showed a store with a super impressive camera collection πŸ˜³πŸ“½πŸ“·

Let’s Discuss From Dawn To Dusk

Saturday Dec 3rd –

The boys had stayed up late, catching up with each other the previous night, so I was the only one up and tip toeing around the apartment for a little while.

Baking of the casserole began and a small pot of coffee was my lovely, quite companionπŸ˜‰

The boys rolled out of bed around 11 or so and breakfast was enjoyed.

A little clean up/dress up occurred and then we headed out to Arnhem to peruse the stores and hopefully find some things I had been wanting to buy before we leave for Canada πŸ˜‰πŸŽπŸ›

We walked through the market that was set up outside of the actual town, finding a good sale on raspberriesπŸ‘ŒπŸ»

And finding this…??? Anyone know what it is or how it’s eaten? πŸ™ˆ
We only photographed it, no purchase was made, but it left me curious πŸ€”

International Friends Day

(Title creds go to Mike πŸ˜‰

Thursday Dec 1st –

Watercolor flowers suddenly seem like the best thing to add to every inspirational quote/verse and though they are pretty and I’m liking doing them a lot, I’m not sure what I’ll be able to turn to for some variety now 😬

I completed a few mini’s that morning too and was loving it πŸ’•πŸŒΈπŸŒΏπŸ’Œ

Brownie needed baking in preparation for having people over the next day as well as a good house cleaning etc. 😊
Fresh brownies and fresh house, what better feeling? πŸ˜‹

Mike had went into town and he returned with Oliebollen for us… 13 to be exact 😏😜

Greasy, heavy, donut like sweets, dipped in icing sugar.
Mike says we will be fat soon πŸ˜”

They are just like what I’m used to having under the name of New Years cookies… though I never liked them because of the raisins (Mike got me some raisinless ones).

French Toast Casserole

Here’s the recipe I used for the french toast casserole!

I didn’t have the one from home and the people who could get it to me were sleeping when I needed it so I found this one via Pinterest at ‘ Creme De La Crumb Blog ‘

Below is the recipe I got from her blog but be sure to check out her page, I’m pretty sure I’ll be trying a few more of her recipes πŸ˜‰

Will My Expectations Be Squashed?

Wednesday Nov 9th –

I could hardly talk due to throat issues and the first sweet words I uttered to Mike were that I needed a Kleenex.

Second words were for him to look at how Fiji was chilling by the balcony 😜

Just can’t seem to shake this germ but at least it’s only bad in the mornings and evenings.
Annnnd I can still taste coffee… it’s always so sad when your sick and don’t want coffee πŸ™„

We sat down to drink our coffees and chill for a moment while waiting for the guys to come over.
Guys being Mikes cousin and a friend visiting from the states.

They arrived shortly after 10:00 am and after about an hour of catching up and exploring the apartment, (cause seeing the whole place totally takes that long😏) they headed off to discover Amsterdam.

I stayed at the apartment and worked on the scripture verse drawing of the day, the blog and making a French toast casserole for the next day’s breakfast.
