A Week In The Life…

Jan 3rd –

That morning the hubster and I worked in a phone date… a tricky thing to do with a seven hour time difference and his jam-packed schedule of mingling 😉

The bro in law and nieces came over later that morning… the bro had a new hose to put on the washing machine, which had begun leaking at midnight, the night Mike had left 😜

I worked on some custom art pieces I’d been asked to do, for a good chunk of the rest of the day😊

I avoided the home of my raisers that day, as most over there were ill 😬

Just A Spoonful Of Sugar

Monday Jan 1st –

I started the new year off with a very non healthy resolution for breakfast.

Brown sugar and cinnamon toast 🤤👌🏻

If you by some chance have NOT tried this combo… you know what tomorrow’s breakfast or tonight’s snack should be 😏

I then sat down to put up my New Years post, a task Tripp didn’t make easy 🙄
But ‘kittens are cute’ she said! …. ‘She’ being me… and I was telling the truth but forgetting how tiresome a cat that does the same thing over and over and over, can be 😏😜

Like climbing all over the keyboard.

I then made myself a coffee to go and went for a walk. Continue reading “Just A Spoonful Of Sugar”

Core Values Challenged

Wednesday Dec 21st –

I mixed up some meatballs and sauce for our supper that night and then Mother retrieved me and I went to her house for the day.

She had requested my help with a big house clean and in return she would help pay for my plane ticket to Winnipeg in January.

That’s right, start of the new year Mom, my aunts, a cousin and I will meet up in Winnipeg for some girl time!

So, if you have been or live there, please let me know some ‘must do’s’!
I believe we will be staying around the Osborne Village area.

So, our whole day was spent cleaning and all that entails, including one extra WEIRD thing Mom made me do.
If I hadn’t wanted to have my ticket paid off I would have refused to do the one task she requested, simply because it went against every grain in my being and maybe even my core values :p

She got me to take down clothes from her closest and re-hang them on hangers that matched her other ones…
Had this meant she started with a multi colored, plastic and velvet mixture I would understand.
But she went from plastic whites, to different shaped plastic whites…

Anyways, we had a good a time as two people can have while house cleaning and then she took me home.
I heated up a large batch of the mozzarella tomato sauce, knowing that Mike would soon be able to get more of the packaged mix when he goes to Europe 😉

We enjoyed our supper and spent the rest of our evening relaxing and kitten watching.
I urged Mike to take photos of them while they are still young and cute because that’ll be over soon :p Continue reading “Core Values Challenged”

Identifying Sounds And Scents

Saturday Dec 16th –

I arose early.
I don’t know if it’s our rooms window, the new house, the knowing there are kittens about or the endless amount of small things to be finished but I can’t seem to sleep in here, at all… hopefully that changes 😒

After a relaxing coffee, I went down to clean up the brilliant red sofa that had caused such excitement this summer.
Buyers were coming to look at it and I was torn between hope of them wanting it and sadness at loosing such an awesome piece 😃💔😭

They came, they left with a new/old couch. Continue reading “Identifying Sounds And Scents”

Concocting In Chaos

Thursday Dec 14th –

Mom was over to complete her wifi work, so between coffees and chats I worked around the house.
Finding more things to unpack, sort and rearranging to mull over 😜

I hauled a dresser in from the garage and washed it up to take up into the craft room, so I could start organizing in there finally.
Deciding that since I love my living room so much, the craft room will probably be more of a storage/guest area for starts 😉

Hubster had cookie business to take care of post work, so he was home late.
My sister had been a dear and sent over a pre-prepared meal to make this ‘move in’ thing easier.
Pull apart buffalo cheese bread, pre chopped veggies, fries portioned for two and even cookies for dessert 😳👌🏻

So that worked out perfectly as I didn’t want the hassle of making a big meal that late in the evening and it was all super tasty and very appreciated  🙂

Friday Dec 15th –

It’s odd but endearing in a way, Atlas, our little she cat, likes to carry things.
Her toy ball, odd play things, the spoon out of my coffee…? 🙈 Continue reading “Concocting In Chaos”

Freeloaders Afoot

Tuesday Dec 12th –

Mom came over that morning to enjoy my company 😊

No, she actually just wanted the wifi 😏😜

She had things to accomplish online and as stupid as it is, the two minutes that she lives away from us, means she can’t get much cell/internet service at their place 🙄

Not that I minded her coming over 😉

We hung out for the morning, each working on our own things until I served us tomato soup in storage containers, as I found out we have no soup bowls 😜
Post our refined lunch (😉), we went out for a walk as it was a lovely day outside 😏⛅️

Before heading off though, we detoured a few steps over to the post office, so I could put up a sign advertising the pies I’ve been baking ☺️ Continue reading “Freeloaders Afoot”
