Mom came over that morning to enjoy my company 😊
No, she actually just wanted the wifi 😏😜
She had things to accomplish online and as stupid as it is, the two minutes that she lives away from us, means she can’t get much cell/internet service at their place 🙄
Not that I minded her coming over 😉
We hung out for the morning, each working on our own things until I served us tomato soup in storage containers, as I found out we have no soup bowls 😜
Post our refined lunch (😉), we went out for a walk as it was a lovely day outside 😏⛅️
Before heading off though, we detoured a few steps over to the post office, so I could put up a sign advertising the pies I’ve been baking ☺️ Continue reading “Freeloaders Afoot”

My morning began with a multi grain bread.
It was thicker and stickier than Mother’s usually is supposedly, so I did something amiss but after baking was completed, it tasted pretty sufficient 😉
I hate raisins in things but bread with dried cranberries ? 🤤👌🏻🍞🥖
I made cream and herb chicken for supper though the recipe was heavy on the thyme in my opinion.
Rice and steamed broccoli went along side the chicken and then the leftover peanut butter and pecan pies were finished off with great pleasure 😛
Our grocery order was picked up by the bro and delivered to our door that evening, the strawberries were a bit moldy but besides that, everything seemed just dandy and totally worth doing again 😉

After a leisurely morning, Mom and I headed to Saskatoon to go check out the Flock and Gather craft show. Continue reading “Handcrafted Memory Making”

Nothing beats a warm tropical morning with coffee, feasting ones eyes on lush greenery and a blue pool, with humid salty breezes brushing away cares, to start ones day 🌤☕️👌🏻🌴🌺📖
We planned on hanging out at our place for the majority of the day, as it was supposed to be a sunny one and it seems like rainy days are more popular on this side of the island.
Mike was going a little stir crazy at the idea of a SECOND day spent at the house (so weird 😜) so he and Dad went to Hilo to sign Mike up as a second driver on the rental vehicle and they passed some time there by getting groceries and I’m not exactly sure what else 😏
Pro and I walked around the yard, searching for wild flowers for a photo I wanted to take, wishing from deep within ourselves that we too, could have yards with such flowers naturally flourishing at our fingertips.
Mom made us breakfast, which was sporting the cutest little bananas, also picked from within the yard😏🍌🍳🍞🍴
Between the bouts of clouded over skies and rain and even some moments of pure sunshine whilst it rained, (which is odder to be in than it may sound) we spent the afternoon poolside.
Later that afternoon Mike, Mom, Pro (the sister whose nickname, not real name, is Pro 😜) and I decided to go check out ‘Kaimū Beach’ aka, ‘The New Black Sand Beach’ which was supposed to be fairly close by and have an interesting story behind it.
If you consider 80 feet of lava, covering an entire beach front-village area, interesting 😳🌋 Continue reading “Scent-sational Experiences!”

With the wee-ish two around, the day’s go by, perhaps not with speed but with more noise and distraction filling the blank spots for sure😉
Mom made a tasty potato soup, specially for Alaina as that is one of her favourites, luckily for us we also got to enjoy it 😏😋
The big sis and I headed over to our place in town, cleaning up the floors Mike had yet to put plywood down on, so he could finish doing that without having to pull nails and scrape off drywall mud.
The dust became so thick while sweeping the basement from all the refuse that had been falling down during the reno’s, that is almost became foggy to even see across the whole basement 😜
Once we ended our time there and cleaned up, we all settled in around the kitchen table to paint (including Alaina, the elder of the two youngers😋).
Creating this and that, not knowing what exactly, or why 😜🎨 Continue reading “Noise And Distraction Filled Blank Spots”

I had been hired to make a unicorn cake for a birthday and that morning was my time to finish creating it, as I had the cake and icing all ready.
Things started going from sort of bad, to worse and then just plain awful real quick 😜
The cakes sides had crumbled a little more than I’d hoped for an easy icing process and the no name brand of icing, though it tasted fine, went on fairly sticky and began dripping off the sides.
I figured the fondant would fix that issue and then it would continue on simply from that point… but no.
The fondant was a different brand from last time too and though it rolled out decently, as soon as it hit the icing, the two immediately bonded in a gooey, sticky mess.
Creating awful folds and wrinkles, unable to be moved or flattened in any way and the animal cake it would have created would have been more likened to an aged elephant than a majestic unicorn 😬😝 Continue reading “An Aged Elephant And Master Of The Grill”

Dad was once again working away from home so it was Mom, Mike and I who drove to church that morning and then back into town for afternoon errands.
Supplies for new deck lighting that Mom had been wanting were found, so that Mike could work on putting it up and then a sign for a closing out sale at Sears caught our eyes and we figured we might as well check since we were near anyways.
It was busy, messy and the sales lacking the discount a closing out sale should have, in my mind anyways.
I did find some picture frames and Canada pins but that was it, the meager 20% not having much of an effect on my spending 😜
We decided on McDonald’s for lunch, since it was already later in the day and we didn’t feel like waiting to make food at home.
I feel like the prices have went up and the quality went even further down if that’s possible? 😬
Or maybe it’s just that I’m an ‘adult’ now 😜
Once home, Mike went straight away to work putting posts on the deck for the string lights. Continue reading “Twinkly Finishing Touches”
